Why not a 74-5 vert and use 82 bumpers? Then it was built correctly in the first place.

You bring up a great point and one I should really investigate. Have you seen any that were done this way ?? How did they look ?? Thanks for the input...

here is a converted 82. main diff from 75 is the rear bumper which is bolt right on. (plus some fitting.) http://www.cardomain.com/ride/314432...olet-corvette/ i read somewhere the 82 front bumper fits a 75 nose. it does not. the 82 goes all the way to the wheelwells. the 75 does not. but altering the bumper to fit or altering the 75 nose to fit later bumper or installing whole 82 nose is a lot less doing than cutting the roof and back deck off and building a convertible rear half. windshield frame, all trim, mucho doing. i believe there are also custom front bumpers to fit 75-79 noses that imitate the later 80-82 style. and no, my 75 vert is not for sale... you wouldn't want it anyway.

82 front bumper does not line up to 74-5 nose or front fenders. The hood is wrong too.

They are out there, but be ready to pounce when they pop up.
I've got an 82 convertible project waiting in the back corner that i've had for 4 yrs -- still deciding what drivetrain i want in it !
It is not a hackjob, but an 82 with a 75 ragtop rear clip on the frame.

Consider the emissions requirements in your area. The '74 has almost no reqs and '75's are exempt in some areas.

Default 1980 ragtop conversion

I never thought of the emissions issue. I did look for a couple of years for a 74/75 convertible to add the 80 style nose to but finding one of those was more expensive than buying the 80 and doing the conversion. Of course soon as I did it I found 3 online for sale. Good luck either way you go.

Wish I could buy this but since I cannot I will post it here

https://waco.craigslist.org/cto/d/19...682948712.html

Seems like a lot of potential. The price seems really cheap to be honest at 8500 OBO. Interior needs carpet, ac vents and more likely. No picture of engine but it does run and drive, has a hard top too.
