Default Not that Bad of a Job After All

I removed the evaporator and blower assembly last night in just a couple of hours. This forum is a godsend for information, and pictures. Anyway you can see the 42 years of junk in there. The evaporator looked pretty good tho. This looks like it might restrict SOME of the air flow I'm not getting through the vents, but I doubt that it ends here. I need to check all of the doors, and see how they move.

Can I take this to an A/C shop, and have it pressure tested?

Is it just me, or did a very depressed rodent hang itself in there?

Hahaha! No but I think it's the remnants of Mickey Mouse's condo. What kind of goop do I get to seal all of this back up?

Yes any decent AC shop should be able to pressure test it.

It's going to smell so much better with all that stuff cleaned out. On my 68 C10 it had every crack and crevice filled with mouse and rat poop and half a forest of pine needles. Can you imagine if you didn't clean it out and you turned on the fan circulating mouse poop dust for your breathing pleasure?

It didn't stink surprisingly. I think everything that dwelled in there has since been long gone. What did you use to for sealant when you put it all back together?

3M strip caulk #8578 is the good stuff but 60' is way more then you need.
I don't know what local auto part stores you have in your area but AutoZone has this, or can get it. Maybe a little thick.

The mouse was depressed because it couldn't get a firm brake pedal!
