Default So someone hit a road work sign and than went into my lane and I smacked it.

So I have a question on a legal issue....

When I get this check do I have to have the car fixed or can I sell it as wrecked if it is about the same cost?

So I can keep the car clean titled.

The damage looks to be to front bumper cover, side fender, maybe hood, and radiator got stabbed by the bottom of sign.

Where are you getting a check from?
If it is from an insurance company, then it being wrecked will get reported.

I personally would try to find a silver front bumper cover and replace the radiator. Two easy and not all that expensive things to do.

My airbag light is stuck on all the time now as well, the driver side fender is also very scratched up, broke a lot underneath I just see plastic hanging everywhere

On a good note, I can properly deal with those headlights with hazing and have the auto shop spray them with clear.

Looks like all you need is a front bumper. Not a big deal. Air bags did not deploy ? so I wonder why you have an airbag light on unless the connector under your seat got jarred. A scan tool would point out to the offending sensor real quick.

Just a guess.
If you are plaintiff and ins. writes you check directly it is not applied to the car....that's a payment for you to go away. haha.
If the ins. pays a shop (possible with your name on check too), then the payment is applied to the car and I bet goes to Carfax et al.

Not sure of your goals.
Do you want to get a settlement check, sell as is and pursue diminished value?
(The settlement check will not include the hidden/ supplemental findings, part price increases...in other words possible "low balled" amount)
Repair 100% yourself and sell?
Patch 25%, get car drivable and sell?
Other?

Good luck.

European spec'd Corvettes have to have Headlamp Washers, literally wash the headlights like you would your windshield. Unless yours was European Spec'd you don't have headlamp washers.

FYI, OEM bumpers you get from the dealership are different compared to the original one that came on my 07. I don't know when it changed, but you appear to have a newer style, where there is a hard edge/line around the headlight assembly. Mine was smooth and rounded. They still fit better than aftermarket, however, body work will likely still be required around the areas that fit around the plastic grill in front of the radiator. I've had two OEM bumpers put on my car in the last year or so. I had a unique opportunity to see my original as well as the two replacements side by side and the original 07 was by far better it terms of looks, design, and fitment.

Here are pics:

The bumper don't line up for sh*t anywhere, the paint job is a joke, orange peel everywhere, wasn't sanded, when in shade it looks bluish like they used too much metallic.

Don't think so.

Two ways to fix. Buy a kit and polish them out. Or, replace lens.

Headlights were sanded than buffed, than had the body shop spray them with clear coat. But anyhow adjuster told me to take the car back and have them fix it. Personally I don’t even want them near my car.

Man, that was a rapid repair done by an intern working out back. Yuck.
Same bumper? Or replacement?
The gap around the light is normal wear and sag of plastic hanging in the heat. Let it go, let it go,...

The gap in the headlight I can literally see the ground... Do I force them to order another bumper? and start from scratch?
