I bought a 2006 triple black A6 last month. The overall condition told me it was a garage queen. But the mileage was higher than I like on a used car let alone a Corvette: 45,870. I just hit 46,000 miles and after changing all the fluids except the tranny fluid, it has been running great. But, I am still wondering if I should have waited for a lower mileage car. Can you guys with higher mileage LS2s tell me your mileage and let me know if these engines can last without funneling a lot of money into them to keep them running?
Fwiw..i have 125k miles on my purchased new 2008 c6 z51manual and its been utterly fantastic as my daily driver.

Personally i change out at 50k my spark plugs and wires. I dont like going the 100k miles as suggested in the owners manual.
i found that over the past 11 years i have to change out the cars battery every 30to 36months as the c6 is extremely sensitive to voltage variations. The DIC showed up various messages like service active handling etc and just putting in a new battery resolved the issues.
i usually changed out the brake pads every 50k miles. I changed the roators at 50k miles but at 100k i just changed the pads and i havent noticed any downsides.
i changed the shocks with bilstein sport shocks from tirerack.
i did the chirping harmonic balancer at around 120k miles..(the ac belt chirps with the harmonic balancer at cold start up for five minutes and thats the time to replace the harmonic balancer)
at around 115k mikes i changed the brake booster as it was causing a lean condition in the engien...around 25percent..put in a new brake booster and issue was resolved.
i did have the water pump weeping around 50k miles...i cracked the plastic radiator at around 90k miles and i changed the radiator hoses recently as one burst but it was no big deal.
i hope you see how little this 190 mph suoercar cost me in maintaince over the past 125k miles..

if your car is a manual I would suggest having a gm world class tech change out the clutch fluid every two years as described in the gm service manual.
40 years of owning carious sports car..this c6has been a winderful ownership experience.

Wow thank you for the great input. The plugs and wires look real easy to do. So I will put it on my list. I did read about wobbly harmonic balancers. The transmission flush is next for the A6.
I did put new tires, new better brakes, Bigger sway bars, Better shocks, New shifter (MGW) LG Headers, Vararam CAI, Tune. But very little in the way of actual breakdown type repairs. Only big issue was fuel pump failure at 100k. Cost about $700.00. Car is a solid ride.
Heck your car is barely broken in. The LS2 or LS3 are pretty bulletproof. Maintenance is key for long life.
My 07 A6 3LT has 206,250 miles and runs great. Been a very reliable DD. Biggest problems were fuel pump replaced at 90k and Alt upgraded at 120k. Sway bar End links replaced, shocks numerous times, brake pads and rotors.....all normal wear items.
My suggestion to you is to find a experienced mechanic to change transmission fluid and filter. It is not a simple drain n fill job.

Keep in mind that the LS2 engine is basically the same one Chevy puts in pick up trucks - only better. Many companies with a fleet of pick ups will load 1500 pounds in them and run the crap out of them for 150,000 miles and then trade them off still running fine. A guy at work just sold his Tahoe with 260k miles still fine. The transmission is similar to the one used in 5000 lb Hummers. I would recommend changing the tranny's fluid and filter (no flushing) and use the GM stuff.
Most vettes are well maintained & as you’ve seen by the several replies, mileage in the long run is no issue... bought mine at 73k, put on some bolt-ons, & has been as reliable as a car can be... the $$ saved by getting a more “mature” car gives you a budget to put those extras on. It will be just as good as the lower mileage cars... if I could do it over, though, I’d have looked for a GS with higher miles...
2008 C6 manual, F55. This car is the best ever. 150,000 miles. original wires, coils, brake fluid, clutch fluid. Did the rear differential fluid change at 50K. Changed brakes at 100K and changed antifreeze at 120K. I change the oil when the computer tells me to.
The only problem now is the fuel sender in the right tank. I used to use the cheapest Premium gas I could find, but since switched to Tier One only. So I am now using BG 443 fuel cleaner and trying to clean the fuel sender. The BG boosted my gas mileage from average 20.8 to over 21 and still calculating the increased mileage. BUT, the fuel sender gets wacky just for the first 20 miles or so, then it works accurately again.
So 50K miles is like a sweet probably just broken in Vette...Drive it like you love it...
I'll tell you one thing more...It's very dependable, looks and smells like new inside and out, and whenever I accidently bang it, it pops back to shape with no damage - except for a few occasions.
I have a 2006 LS2 6 speed. Am original owner and have 175,000 miles on it. Changed oil and filter regularly. Lost one water pump and one starter. Replaced batteries as others have said. Replaced front tires at every 35-40k. Not sure how long the rears go if you are not smoking them. Probably 2X fronts. Was a daily driver 100 mi per day for seven years. It is still pulling hard. Original clutch and one set of brake pads. Totally impressive reliability. I also have a similar 1985 C4 with 225,000 mi and a 1999 C5 with 150,000 mi. Take care of them and they will return the favor.

You guys make me feel guilty. My 05 has 77900 miles on it and had 73300 on it when I bought it Sept 2016. Two years this month and only 4600 miles in 2 years.
