Default San Diego Vette Owners: Roll Call!

My previous vehicles include an Infiniti G35 (2006) and BMW 335i (2013). Both cars have strong, but separate, commnities in SoCal. Enough to have multiple GTGs throughout, including San Diego. I'm shocked that I can't find a bi-weekly Corvette GTG in San Diego. Maybe the demographics are just that different, but I figure we are all car enthusiasts here and I wouldn't mind checking out others' Vwttes and what they've done to them.

Anyway, I just wanted to get a list of SD Vette owners going. And if there is enough interest, maybe setup a GTG? Doesn't have to be bi-weekly or anything (although I'd be up for a somewhat regular GTG, maybe monthly?). All generations would be welcome of course.

I'll start the roll call. 😀

Here's a link to a group I'm in, all owners throughout San Diego. Problem is when things are planned out, only at the most 10 people or less make it out, this is out of the 96 members in it.

It's a closed group, but if there's serious interest, send me a pm.

People join car clubs for very different reasons. Some want a social club; others want to cruise to places together; some want to speed together (!); some want to exchange mechanical info and know-how; some just want to shoot-the-poop.....

I haven't found the right mix for myself yet.

Maybe like the classic Groucho quote "I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member"

But I'll watch your thread!

Fred ('61 and '98), in Poway.

I belong to Corvette Club of San Diego. We try to do a run every month or every couple of months and end with a lunch get together. Our website is www. Cocsd.com

If you're Interested I am happy to sponsor you. I'm also interested in informal meets with other Vette owners.

I use to get together with Corvettes and Cobras, great group. Now I just cruise on my own in the mountains on early morning weekends. If you put something together I’ll stop by, or we can meet up and drive up to the mountains.

I too was involved with Mission Valley Corvettes and Cobras. We had a lot of fun. The group faded away and so I have joined Corvette Owners Club of San Diego. The club tries to do a fun run every month.

Recently moved to Chula Vista, would be cool to have a weekly/ bi-weekly vette meet.

I think we'd be lucky to get one meet going!

Default Corvette Diner?

Not sure this is a good location for a meet, but there is a corvette themed diner in San Diego, would be a cool meet spot I’d think maybe Thursday nights? or weekend mornings? I want a corvette meet that’s not a club that you have to pay to join, just people with vettes having a normal meet

I don't think their food is particularly great, but I think it would be a good place for a meet. It's at Liberty Station, which has plenty of parking (though it's usually full during peak hours). I'll post another thread with a date/time...whoever shows up shows up! Looks like they open at 11AM on weekends.

I'll tap in too. A casual cruise or meet up would be fun. Plenty of breweries in San Diego and points north, even a couple of wineries for a destination.
Steve in Escondido. A '63 and a '69.
