ZR1 Delivered -Random initial thoughts
Torch Red, ZTK, M7, 3ZR
Looking at the Car-WOW! Paint shop has kicked things up! Shine and depth much improved! All that Carbon set against the Red really shows off all the angles. And that BIG AZZ wing, stunning! Converted a few who have the small wing or initially didn’t like the wing. Interior-Love the new headliner, a few changes from the 16Z. Shifter seems like its set different.
Initial start up –It’s LOUD
Ride and Handling, SMOOTH even in track mode, well planted to the road. Steering much tighter than the Z06. Glides through traffic with ease.Shifting/Clutch-effortless! Need more time to get used to the power difference!
Sound-That EXHAUST Gurgle! Unbelievable! Want to hit the red lights just to hear it. Thought the roads were really bad causing all that noise, it was the ZR1!, can hear the aircraft whine of the supercharged more pronounced than the Z06
Acceleration-Is it quick? OMG it’s a ROCKET!!!!!!! Even rev limited this thing wants to FLY! It’s smooth but will get your attention!
Speaking of ATTENTION-it draws the lookers on the road, getting gas, Neighbors hate me, rolled through Cruise night with a Friend’s Black ZR, talk about crowd shifting to our end of the lot. They heard us coming. What is that? Doesn’t look like a Corvette! Wow wow wow.
Did I sleep in it? I am wearing a path to the garage and behind closed doors I was jumping in my seat!I loved my C7Z06 and C6ZR1, the C7ZR combines the raw beast of the C6ZR, tech and handling improvements of the C7Z06 and amps them up beyond anything I expected. Expectations Exceeded, well done GM! LOVE the NEW KING!!!
***Two minor issues Dealer is handling---One of the screws on the BAW was not right, they are ordering an entire new stand for it, there is “something” small/ not really noticeable popping through the rear bumper, dealer ordering new bumper . I’ll update after 500 miles and more seat time. Pic is of me and my GM Friend who helped get this order to my Garage enduring months of nonstop MY BIG *** WING lol

It's amazing to hear how much better it is from the Z06. I can imagine it's light years away from the Stingray.

Congrats, Deb. Sounds like your transition from Z to ZR1 will be a blast. I remember the same scenario in 2011. Standing in the garage staring at that bad-assed car and thinking,"This **** is mine!" It's a very cool feeling. Driving it is on another level entirely. Enjoy that bad-boy. The new BAMF has arrived!
