New Member here
Hey, new member with a newly acquired 69 conv. with a 350/350 4 spd matching number specimen. It has a quadrajet. My problem is the accelerator pedal at first feels notchy then stuck in the closed position completely. Can't depress the pedal at all. Replaced the accelerator pump but problem resurfaced. Can baffle be hanging up on manifold? Any ideas?? HELP

Are you sure its carb and not pedal or cable?
Did you work the carb by hand to try to see whats binding up where?

Burning Brakes
Is it factory air cleaner and throttle cable bracket? If air cleaner is not factory, check that the throttle lever is not getting stuck against the air cleaner, also check to see if the air cleaner has any markings on the bottom side. If aftermarket bracket, check for binding of the cable from improper angles or over extension. Could be a rusty throttle lever in carb. soak the area where it enters into the base plate with WD-40 and work back and forth until it seems to loosen. It really could be so many different things.
A pictures or video of your setup would help in diagnosis too.

We've been through all of that and no dice. The common feeling is that it is internal. Any ideas with that???

Have you had it off the car yet? Working it by hand off the car should reveal the location of the issue pretty quickly. Improper torquing can cause warping. Impoper gaskets could cause blocking of the blades. IIRC, the secondary linkage connects on the driver side of the carb to the throttle lever. I believe I have seen that linkage incorrectly set up and would cause the throttle lever to bind early on during primary throttle bore operation.
