Curious how they compare on the track. Maybe on the street too.
I currently have a regular 2015 Viper, and would consider a ZR1 in the next couple of years.

Cmon guys I’m not talking about lap times, I’m talking about who has owned both, who went from an ACR to a ZR1.
what improvements did you notice besides power and sound? Really want to know. I’m looking to upgrade and want to know from current ZR1 owners. How are they at the track? Is the weight difference noticeable?

No have not driven a zr1. Doesn’t really interest me and don’t think it would feel significantly different then my C7z06. Biggest difference is I am sure it pulls better up top with the bigger supercharger.
op is looking for zr1 owners that came from a viper. That might be tough to find. OP might consider test driving a C7z06 seeing how zr1’s are hard to come by right now. And probably even more difficult to get a good test drive in a zr1.
From there I think he can draw a reasonable conclusion of what a zr1 might be like compared to his viper. Seeing how hertz is now renting z06’s in special locations. He might even do that.
C7z is a nice car. It’s more of a luxury car like Cadillac 2 door with no back seat.
Maybe the OP will like that.

I disagree, I have spent a few weeks in a couple different Gen 5 Vipers and I think they are terrible cars. I love the way they look driving down the highway from my car, but if I am never in the driver seat of a Viper again I won't miss a thing. (and for the record I am not at all a corvette fanboy, I just own one)

I had a 2016 ACR, 2015 ZO6/07 and now the ZR1. I have not had the ZR1 at the track yet—so I cannot offer you any track comparisons at the moment. I had almost 9K track mi on my ACR. Car was unbelievably planted. It’s only real iasue was eating a set of front tires every 1-2 track days.
As an all around car, the ZR1 is in another league. It’s not a one trick pony like the ACR was. ZR1 is much more useable and well rounded. I owned the ZO7 for 3.5 years and the ACR for 2.5 years. I kept the ZO7 for weekend drives in the mountains since the ACR was not really suitable for this. It’s my expectation that the ZR1 will fill the shoes of both. One thing I have to say—I sold the ACR for what I paid for it new—to the penny. I took a $35K hit on the ZO7.

That makes sense or find someone generous enough to give him a test drive or track time.
