Identify 700R4
My transmission on my 1982 Corvette blew up and I took it to a shop that I have worked with in the past. They replaced it with a 4MD291N.
Can anyone one tell me what this is and is it a good replacement ?

That number is probably some internal code for that transmission shop. I don't recognize it as anything directly related to a 700R4 transmission.
