Is really low mileage gonna give me problems
I am looking at a 2011 Grand Sport with 4900 miles, one owner with clean carfax. My body shop man has checked and it is very nice, interior is perfect. My concern is seals leaking, ac etc with so few miles. Would replace tires due to age. Any thoughts?

I have a 2011 GS --- the only thing I have done is change the oil and Ranger the Clutch fluid. The 4900 miles is nothing to worry about. drive it and drive it a lot -- that is what they were designed and made for. RE: tires - go by the date code and see if it past the recommended time by the tire company - probably Goodyear.

It's not that old of a car that the low miles would worry me. It's at 500ish miles a year. I'd guess the previous owner drove it a few weekends a year to events. If the mileage is actual, I'd jump on it.

In before someone mentions “dried out gaskets” like they still use cork and rope...

If it is not leaking anything now, I can't imagine that driving it from this point forward would require anything other than normal maintenance

Its not as much as the 4900 miles, but started and driven regularly. Rubber seals do better if operated regularly. Of course no way to tell. Not that old so I wouldn't worry too much.

I would definitely replace the tires(especially if they’re the factory garbage Goodyear run craps). My 2013 GS has only 11k miles. I had the coolant changed a few months ago since it goes by 5 years or 100k miles. You should change yours as well.

No problem with low mileage. In January I purchased a 2013 grand sport convertible with manual transmission clean Carfax one owner with 950 miles on it. Flew out to Indianapolis and drove back to Massachusetts. Tires should be good for eight years per the manufacturer. I believe the lower the mileage the better when buying used. So far no problems. I now have 4,300Miles on it. Good luck with your new purchase

Just going to repeat some other opinions here. 4900 miles would not concern me, it would actually be a plus. Check date code on the tires, if original, replace them. About 8 years in service is the max, and try to get the seller to lower their price for the tires. Coolant change every 5 years. If an M6, ranger method to clean the clutch fluid. My '13 427 only has 6,500 miles and had all sorts of clutch debris in the fluid. I perform the ranger method every time after I take mine out for drive. I've done it 6-7 times now and the fluid is cleaner every time.

While not Corvette related, I recently bought a 2004 Escalade, that basically sat for months before my purchase. Had a few issues from not being driven for a while. But after putting some miles on it, it "cleared out the spider webs", and ran as good as a 2004 Escalade can.
Just get in, "rotate the tires" (read: burnout), and enjoy.
