What going on with MPSS and S4 Tires !!!!
Wanted to get some new 345/30/19 MPSS like I have been using for years and DiscountTires has them listed as discontinued (and I talked to them on the phone)
TireRack has them though?? saying they are version3 ??
They both said the S4 will be the only tire option soon.
On TireRack I checked the specs and in the 285/35/18 for fronts it is llb lighter and tread with is only 9.9" compared to 11.1 for the PSS. AND there is only a 325, no 345 for the rear in PS4.
Anybody have the inside scoop?
I was going to order some 18/19 wheels but now concerned my tire of choice and size may not be available or will be a smaller tread patch (not good)

Not sure why that size is being fazed out other than less and less people are using them. I recently purchased new custom made wheels for my Z and went the 19/20 size. I was still able to purchase MPSS in 345-30-ZR20 and 285-30-ZR19 with no issues.

Do the 345s give you guys the service active handling warning? They always did on my other Z.

Burning Brakes
If you run your Z06 hard on a road course, one way to tell you are having issues is that your tires will hit the inside of the inner fender and rip it out. This happened to me twice on my 08 Z06. Ditto to a friend of mine on his 08 Z06. In my case it was the LR wheel well both times. Of course if you are just putting around on the street and revving your motor, it will never be a problem.
For those who are wondering, I was using OEM (325) tire sizes. My friend was using the 345s.

Oh, I though it was obvious from the title of the thread -- Michelin Pilot SuperSport tires. Was anyone else talking about Nittos? My wheels are OEM speedlines and there are no wheel spacers either.
