Default SlipStream KOTS 2018 NA Winner!!!

Last weekend I competed and WON my class at Pocono Raceway in a Slipstream "King of the Streets" roll racing event. They have some rules on pacing, and having a starting speed below 65.99mph in order to count the run and qualify for elimination rounds. They had 4 classes: AWD, RWD, Sedan and Naturally Aspirated. Cars had to be legally registered, otherwise no limits on mods. I ran in the NA class, as the RWD were all heavy hitters with mostly turbo & supercharged. ECS was there with their vette's, along with customers cars.

This was the 1st event since swapping over to a MAMO top end (mms 265 heads,MSD intake, yt rockers). I haven't put the car on a dyno yet, but felt that the combo did pretty well. My traps were pretty consistent all day, laying down 147.xx mph. DA of 2270 wasn't bad, but certainly helped the boosted cars more. For comparison I listed a few other cars speeds and mods:

C6Z06 : 140 mph (All Pros,Jesel,Mamo MSD, LSX440 - self tuned.) **He left early for unknown reason.
C6Z06: 152-153 mph (CMS built car, 454, 13.8scr, Brodix, Hi Ram, E85) **Didn't qualify as his start speeds were too high
TT Gallardo : 149-150 mph (UGR TT setup, Stg 1 750-800whp)
TT Supra: 166 mph ( Big single turbo, enough said. 1100whp)
TT Camaro ZL1 163mph (Helion TT, auto, 1050whp)
C7Z06: 167 mph (JTM built/tuned with F1-A, meth injection, and E60, making 900whp) **This car won the RWD title!
991 911: 174 mph (AIM built car, 1100+ whp) NJ Plate read : 9SECDD

That's me on the right.( Wearing my MAMO t-shirt!)

Here's a closeup of the belt! Really nice, gator skin leather, riveted plates. Soo much more impressive than a trophy, plus I can wear it! Although my wife already warned me not in public around her...LOL

It was fast, I was able to stay with him for just 2nd gear, then I could only admire it from behind, at a distance. Then later it wound up kissing the wall? I felt really bad for the guy, but seeing it on trailer it appeared to be just cosmetic...

So tempting though...this belt is just like a WWE or Boxing title belt...

Was it a 1/4 mile run once you past the lights at less than 66 mph?

Thanks! Surprisingly I didn't see a single viper, nor anything else exotic. The majority of the cars had boost in one form or another.

There were the 2 Z's I mentioned, and beyond that a few Camaro's, oh and there was an LS3 swapped Nissan 240. I may have missed some, but there weren't that many NA cars entered into the KOTS. There were some more in RS, which is non-competitve.

Thanks! I would have loved to run that car head to head. I think it would have made for a great race.

How often is this race? Yearly? Thinking of entering, sounds like a lot of fun.

They have 5-6 events a year. They name them differently, but follow the familiar 1/3 mile format. But the KOTS is I believe only 1x a year.
There is 1 more event left this year, on Oct 13th. No formal awards to be handed out, but plenty of bragging rights I'm sure!

Not looking for an award, just wanna have some fun that's all. Are they only in pocono? Curious if any are done at englishtown.

Thanks

They have been predominantly at Pocono, but they have had 1/2 mile events the last 2 years at MidState Airport, Philipsburg, PA. I want to go to that event next year!

I used to live in NJ, and went to E-Town all the time. Sadly, I read that Englishtown is no more? The family leased the property and it is being used as vehicle storage now...

I thought it was only the 1/4 racing they got rid of? I will have to look into it thanks.
