Default Interesting Z06/ZR1

I saw Bob Lutz in a discussion talking about the ZR1 vs Z06. I speculated that with the same ground effects and stuff the Z06 would be as fast as a ZR1. V E R Y INTERESTING

GM now delivers an absolute rocket for the dollar that has the import humpers in a tizzy. Their reaction is predictable. Their insecurity and stupidity has compelled them to label the ZR1 a "flop", hilarious! Hater gotta hate.

Maybe on a few tracks, though faster tracks like VIR I don't see that happening.

Funny,
You missed his point, the point was the ZR1 ground effects would help the Z06, not make it as quick.

Well there's a factual thread about how the new ZR1 is a flop so it would probably slow the Z06 down.

Yeah. That thread was based on all the intuitive insight and experience of reading an MT review. We know how objective and unbiased the mag rags are. I'll keep waxin' my floppy C7 ZR1 (ZTK) and when I really want to go fast bring out the C7 Z06 (Z07.) Right?

And if we went by the magazines one would have believed the c7gs was the best C7 ever.

look, the 650 650 of the LT4 was maxing this chassis out in the first place.

ZR1 adds 100 and 65 to the same chassis with a bit more downforce at higher speed. It is exactly what it was designed to do. Be 100hp 65tq and bit more downforce faster than an LT4 Z06.

the extra cooling is huge for track racers.

hopefully the C8 knocks it out if the park then everyone in this section can move on to the next best thing (in a good way) and then the mags will have to really dig for complaints as they've begged for an ME corvette almost as long as Duntov..

Are you saying the haters actually "think" before they post their hate? Very generous benefit of doubt Deb.

The ZR1 is designed for high-speed road racing, but below is a straight line comparison of A8 Z06 vs ZR1;

Is the Z06 getting slower as the runs continue due to heat soak?

I watched the same and maybe a bit of context is in order: Lutz was talking within the context of an ME discussion and how increasingly hard is to squeeze performance deltas out of the current FE architecture... He is not denying the ZR1 is faster, he was lamenting the horsepower necessary to make it so..

I was going to post that link Corvettes 918. I love my ZO6 but the ZR1 is a good bit faster when my ZR1 comes, soon I hope, I will do some more pulls with my ZO6 and post the results for all to see!

Mero ran both Z06 Z07 and ZR1 on same track same couple of days. It was NOT 5 seconds faster.

and after watching the videos I learned something else (btw they are all available on YouTube) they use a bunch of different drivers? How scientific is that?

truth be told. The only real numbers for comparison between the Z06 and ZR1 should be poorsha's since he actually raced/es both routinely. His numbers on the same track actually hold water. All the rest are here runs and noise.
