Default Hello all,

I have a 1991 C4 6 spd convertible, ruby red, (all original stock) I bought in 2001, has 120k miles, I am finally semi retired and am going to give her some love. I am looking for some advice on what code reader I can get for the 1991 OBD1 cars like mine,,,trying not to spend a fortune.
Thanks in advance for any advice....Pyepye

AgentEran is being literal in his reply, not sarcastic. Use a 2-cent piece of wire to jump the ALDL connectors (look up which ones) and your display should provide codes. No reader needed.
At first I thought he was asking you to "attach" pictures... would be nice to see your car.

A useful tool might be a monitor device which can be used to examine engine performance in real time.

Like 65Z01 said I too would be interested in a scanner that can do more than read codes. At a reasonable price. I also have a Bright Red 91 6 speed, but a coupe. Welcome to the forum.
