GM couldnt stand the whinning from manual corvette lovers any more so they gave Jalopnik some info so the suicide rate on “the manuals are for real men “website subsides.

Very interesting. There may be hope for a manual transmission after all.

I don't know why there's so much hate for a superior system. Manuals are on life support. I love heel & toe driving as much as anyone, but I realize that its era has come to an end in the high performance vehicle segment.

Try to be less hostile toward other Corvette owners. There is nothing wrong with Corvette owners wanting a manual transmission. Just like there are Porsche owners who want a manual transmission in their cars too. You should be happy that both types of transmission are offered. Choice is the American way.

I'm going to be honest, if you're halfway decent at driving stick I really doubt the difference on a track is that much. From a stand still sure but chances are there is a lot more to be gained on the track from improving picking your line than anything else, especially if you've been doing it a while. Actually most of the tests I've seen pro drivers do it goes one way or the other. But I doubt almost anyone that picks up one of these will push it that hard or are even capable of doing that. so for the average joe, yea, it'll be faster and easier.
Personally, my daily is an auto. My fun car is supposed to be fun so it's a manual. I want it to be different. If I drove it everyday then it would be different. Just my take...

That isn't a DCT though and he is probably one of the best professional drivers I've ever seen lap a car. And the difference came down to how clean the run was, his six speed run was a tad smoother. But again, in the grand scheme of things it all comes down to how good you are.
