Default Hoosier Tire Size Questions

Thank you in advance for your help,

I have been running Hoosier's for years, but I got new rims and have never run this size before so I have a few questions:

Rims = F14's
Front = 18x11 +38 (or so)
Rear = 18x13 +53 (or so)

2010 C6 Z06, stock ride height, stock suspension. Car is geared down to 3.83's, intake, tune, heads...pretty basic. Steering position sensor is unhooked during track so no worries about the active handling non-sense.

I believe I am dead set on getting 345/35/18 rears on R7's. Would be open to 335/30/18's but less likely unless someone gave me a compelling reason. Would love to hear the pros and cons to a 335.

For the fronts, opinions on 315/30's or 315/40's? My assumption is to get 315/30 with either the 335's or 345's in the rear. My problem is that TireRack does not list tire diameter for the 315/40 in the specs, so I dont feel I can make an intelligent decision towards that.

Sorry for the noob questions. Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks, Paul

I agree. Tire diameters for those sizes are also similar to stock diameters so if you run tire pressure sensors on the track wheels you can run without unplugging the steering sensor.

Terry Fair @ Vorshlag recommended R7 fronts 335-30-18 and rears 345-35-18 on Forgestar rims
and so I got them :-)

I have a 335 square setup (street tires, but similar idea) on my car and there's no rubbing issues. I've run them on stock suspension all season and never had an issue, other than too much body roll. You do lose a considerable amount of steering lock, but in autox or road course, you don't need anything more than half a turn of the steering wheel, so it doesn't affect that.

Bill
how does diameter influence the sensors?
