Stuff you paint onto a rusty bolt head and it stops the rust?

Chassis Saver is a product similar to POR15 and a little less costly. I have successfully used Chassis Saver but have never used POR15. Just don't get it on things you don't want it on. It can take quite some time to get off your hands and if you get a drop on your clothing the cloth around the spot will disappear before the painted spot does.

If you get zinc plated Grade 8+ bolt it shouldn't rust for quite a long time. Hardware store bolts are junk, I'd be ordering on McMaster Carr or other specialty store.

These are header bolts and exhaust bolts. Perfectly good just light rust (I don't like - ocd). But I'n not up for replacing perfectly good bolts for some light rust, just want to touch them up with something that kills the rust.

Scrub them with a wire wheel and then paint them with anti-seize, including the heads. The zinc in the anti-seize will act as a sacrificial anode and corrode first.

Oh, I forgot to add, the ACF-50 will migrate for weeks. I have sprayed it into the wing inspection openings on two acft of mine and the stuff just keeps on creeping over the inside surfaces of the wings coming out and over the hinges, pulleys and cables. A little goes a long way. I use it on the rivets and bolts of my trailer to stop the rust. It looks better than rust, also.

Evapo-rust is a new product I tried, and am just amazed. It's been so damn humid all summer I have brake parts in the garage that rusted. Soaking them in that (non-toxic) stuff and they look like new! Just today I'm experimenting with just painting a soaking coat on brake rotors to see what happens overnight. It's only $8 a bottle and reusable, so why not try soaking the bolts a couple times to dissolve the rust. If you take them off and soak them overnight, be prepared to be happy--it removes 100% of the rust. No smell either!
