My garage is getting a facelift
I am in the process of getting my garage ready for a place to park a soon to be purchased C6 Vette.
New drywall on two walls and a fresh coat of paint on everything.
I'm going to install LED lighting too. The old fluorescent shop lights were bright but we're terribly inefficient on electricity.
Still haven't decided what color to paint but am leaning towards just plain old white.
Probably going to do a floor epoxy too or just paint the floor . My buddy just did his garage floor with Home Depot gray floor paint then he put a coat of gloss polyurethane on it. It looks like it's wet not sure on the durability though.
Looking for ideas how to make my garage a cool place to park a Vette. Let's see your garages

I like plain white as it helps with the lighting and is easy to match if you need more.
fwiw. Rock your ceiling first if it isn't already and then the walls.

I did my floor in porcelain tile ... Easy to clean, and not one cracked or broken tile in the 5 1/2 years the tile has been down.

That is a very nice look! I am at over 1500 sf of floor space in my garage and decided years ago to do a professional epoxy coat. It has held up very well in 8 years' use, but I'm guessing if I had chosen tile like this I could have done it for what I have in the epoxy......well done!

My garage is a disaster... Walls were all beat up, lighting was non existent and the floor is brutal...
Some white paint and LED lights have made a huge difference so far!
Just remember with the floor the PREP is key to anything you do!

I'll be looking for a Bowtie Neon also. And more neons. Can't have enough of those.
Got to get a nice leather couch from Goodwill or a Salvation army store for 100 bucks. Then get a new tv for my living room and take the old one to the garage
My wife said when the garage is done I have to redo a bathroom. I agreed without hesitatation.
I really haven't done much upkeep around my house in the last 10 years( sad because I'm a Carpenter ) been so busy at work 6-7 days a week for the last 4 years until recently.
I work directly for a home builder, not a subcontractor and had a sit down with my boss recently and I said I'm only doing 40 hours a week, that's it. He's cool with that . He knows it's impossible to find decent help these days especially a 35 years experience guy like myself .
We can't find any decent help for any of the trades. Electricans are the only good one we can find it seems.
Don’t forget the Garage Art.

did you do this yourself? If so, did you simply clean the concrete, lay mortar and tile away? I’ve always been interested in this idea, seen many Porsche owners do it.

I didn't do it myself. I bought the porcelain tile, the thin set mortar and the grout from Lowes with a 10% military discount ... then paid a guy I know to lay the tiles right over the existing cement slab floor.
Total Tiled Area: . . . . 585 Sq. Ft. (3 car garage)
Tile Supplier: . . . . . . .Lowes
Tile Brand / Style: . . .Tilecrest 'Illusion Novona'

Labor: . . . . . . . . . . . $ . 950
Total Cost: . . . . . . ..$ 1,943

I’ve had three garages that I’ve epoxied the floors. As mentioned, prep is the key. But be forewarned...when it gets wet it is slick as ice! And wet tires leave marks to be cleaned. I’m currently in a rental (have been for 10 years) so I’ve used racedeck on its floor. Downside to it is that fluids, dirt, etc sift thru the tiles. If and when I pull it up, I’ll have a mess to vacuum up!

After I painted my garage floor I covered it with with 3/4" thick 4'x6' solid rubber "horse stall mats" from Tractor Supply. Anchored them with Tapcon screws into the concrete.

How is it when wet? Unlike you from look of it, I have snow so that is something I need to factor in.
