Default DEFINITIVE C7 Grand Sport Wheel Specs for SS

Hello! Hoping to get some solid answers about wheel specs.

I have a 2017 Grand Sport WITHOUT the Z07 package. I’ve contacted Forgestar and they are saying I will not clear the front brake calipers with a 19x10 +40 front wheel. They are recommending +27 which is not legal for SS. I would like to run 19x10 fronts and 19x12 rears in order to run 305/30 Bridgestone RE71R.

Can anyone chime in with a tried and true wheel setup that doesn’t require spacers or fender modification? Hoping to be competitive in SS next season. 🤞

Thanks all!

Factory front wheel size is 19x10, so keep that up front. Run a 19x12 off a C6Z or C6 Grand Sport on the rear.

Contact Forgeline, or JDP Motorsports, the car below is running that set up.

That's not a SS car. GM racing team runs the OE wheels up front with the C6Z rears in SS. You could also probably give Sam Strano a call and see what he recommends, and buy them through him if you want a setup that matches front and rear.

Never claimed it was an SS car, it does however run a 19 front and rear on RE71s.

What size re71's would work on a c7 gs in SS. Don't some people go 19/10 square?

305/30R19 square RE71Rs. The rears are stretched on the 12" wide rear wheels but they work.

Through a comedy of errors I've not been here a lot, working on fixing my screen name but will go with this for the time being. But I can help, I know what fits both the Carbon brake and the Steel brake cars and be legal for SS/SSR.

The 305 is less than ideal to be sure, but nothing bigger coming. Also you need to watch what you run on the front in terms of height as if the rear is too short vs. the front eLSD issues start to pop up.

PM if you wish.
