Default C6 ECM location

Can anyone tell me where the ECM is located on a 2008 coupe. I had a problem with it while it was in warranty, and the dealer replaced it. I'm having the same problems again, and would like to replace it. Not sure they actually replaced it last time. This time I'll know for sure. If anyone knows how to remove and replace it, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, I’ve seen some videos on C5’s but wasn’t sure if they had changed it. Thanks again

Its here,

FYI, if you look above the ECM, you see the two slots and recess in the plastic, and would be where the F55 module is located in the car if you have such, Also to point out from the Three connectors to the ECM, and the blue connector behind the ECM for the TCM, we can tell that this is a 2005 car with E40 ECM and A4 trans. ON C6 and later cars, the TCM is located in the trans, and the later e38 ecm only have two connectors.

But you don't need to pull the fender to get to it, just the rear tire wheel cover on passenger side.

In the wheel wheel remove the cover plastic clips, by pulling the center tab out to remove the pressure so you can pull them out,

then you will have 3 screws on the bottom side of the cover that you will need to removed, to remove the wheel well access cover.

The chances that 2 ECM's go bad in the same car is VERY rare unless there is something wrong with the car that is damaging them. The GM ECM's as a whole are generally quite robust and hard to kill. Lots of them get replaced due to wiring issues or other component failures that weren't properly diagnosed and the problem still persists and isn't solved.

What the DTC, since you have both the C166 and C186 connector next to the battery that lead down to the ECM connector, and most of time, the problem is in one of these connectors isntead.

number 3 and 4
Note, on the 2005, you have a C180 connector next to the battery as well, and is the third connector to the ECM from the dash harnesses to the ECM that come across the back side of the motor against the fire wall, to the C180 connector, then down to the ECM on the other side of that connector.
