Default C5 owner converted to a new C7

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ryan and i just ordered my 2019 on Saturday. I cant wait i'm very excited as this will be my second Vette but first brand new one and first time ever ordering a car. I just sold my 2001 C5 in June that I had for 15 great years but the itch bit me hard for the C7. I look forward to seeing the enjoyment out of the new one and sharing ideas with you all.

Here's my 2001 I just sold

I as well was a C5 jumper. I had a 2000 C5 Vert for 13 year & I jumped to a C7 Z06 Vert, you will be blown away how far the Corvette has come. I thought I would miss my good old C5, but that lasted about 2 minutes after I climbed into the Z. You are in for the thrill of your life. The waiting game is a lot of stress, but well worth it.

I agree. I went from a 2002 C5 to a C7. Unbelievable difference. You will be amazed.

Thanks Belvin20, I cant wait!! I loved my C5 but she was showing some age and with talk of the C8 and the pictures I saw I knew it was time to make the switch. Have you had any issues with the C7? Anything I should be on the lookout for?

^^^ She's a beauty!! I loved mine, was actually the hardest car I ever had to let go. I still regret it slightly but I thing the new one once arrives will help void that whole in my heart lol. Are they CCW's you have on her?

I'm curious as to what you miss about your C5 vert.. It's always a really big deal for me to "move on" to "the next
next one".

I loved my C-5, so when I got my C-7, I kept the C-5.
Two entirely different cars. I love 'em both.

The look of the car , the sound of my c5, had GHL exhaust, headers sounded bad ***. The open fill of the vert. The stance was was awesome. My biggest mistake was selling her and not keeping both. It was my first corvette.

We still have our C5. Still a great car and as above has GHL exhaust but no headers. C7 definitely an improvement as the car handles much better among other things. Actually went through a 2012 GS before the 15 Z06.

I sold this...02 Vert

For this...2014 Z51 3LT...although I loved my C5 (and that is an understatement), there is just no comparison between the C5 and the C7 - your C5 was beautiful, but you will have a ball in your new ride - enjoy!!!

GM did a good job making forget my C5 Z. The C7 Grand Sport is an amazing machine. Much more planted and more powerful than my c5. Love driving it and hate parking it.

I remember back around 2004 when GHL exhaust was a forum favorite, have it on our C5 as well along with LG Pro longtubes.

Something went awry in the land of GHL a few years ago I think but for a few years, they were top of the heap.

Thinking it's about time to retire the 2004 and move up to 2019.
