PPS sensor help
I Took my 2011 grand sport into the shop yesterday because of an airbag light that was on. They called me this morning to say that the passenger presence sensor module (PPS) was out. They are estimating a $1400 job, $855 for the part itself and the rest in labor. Has anyone ever done this replacement themselves? I am comfortable with removing the seat and tearing it down just need to know exactly what I’m getting myself into as well as what parts do I need to buy to make it work and re-calibrate if needed?

The module itself is located on the underside of the seat just inside the rail on the same side as the position/lumbar switches. Looks like a pretty simple plug and play job once you have the module in hand. I don't know if there is any reprogramming necessary after you replace.
PS -- looks like you only need to reprogram the BCM if you replace the airbag module. I think the PPS module is straight plug and play.

So... now that I’m completely lost.... is there an amazon link to the one to buy?

As for "out", is the PSS pad connector connected all the way in to start with (and not just the problem), and are they sure it not just a mater of a loose connector or it needing to be re-calibrated isntead.
Hence would disconnect the battery, remove the seat, and make sure that PPS pad connector is fully connected into it socket, and the main connector connected and tie strapped as well to make sure it not going to come loose.
As for if the PSS pad has to be replace, you on need to remove the lower seat cover and foam to get to it, then will need a Tech II to go into SRS menu to calibrate it once the seat is back in place and the connector reconnected.

And don't screw around with any of the air bag systems with the battery connected still, and make sure that you wait a good 15 min for the SRS system to fully electronically discharge before you touch any of the SRS systems.
