Default 4th wrecked ZR1?

I love how you guys are keeping track of the wrecked ZR1s. You really should create a database as I think this ZR1 will be the last front engine, last manual transmission, a possible production run of only 1 year, and quite a few of them will meet an early grave. Its going to be something really special going forward. I am really tempted to buy this car, so I am posting it here to hopefully drive the price out of my range They seem to think it has less than 1k miles on it but the battery is exploded so they can't check.

https://www.iaai.com/Vehicle?itemID=...oadRecent=True

By my count, that's
1. The famous one
2. The white one in the other thread
3. The orange one with the spanish ambulance in the other tread
4. This one.

Ouch Sadly too many of these will meet an early demise. People who have no idea the power doing stupid things. Including the infamous one who should have known better.

This VIN is ending 935. Most likely, that car was built the week of 8/20 as mine was. Mine arrived at my dealer this week and I haven’t driven it yet. What a sad story.

Holy smokes, can you imagine? I can see it now. The poor guy just hits his 500 mile mark, and says to himself "self, let's take this puppy out on the track and see what it can do!" Fast forward a day later: "Maybe I shoulda done that Ron Fellows school after all...."

I don't see this auction as being active yet. If it's cheap enough I might be interested. Close enough to me to get a good stock of parts!

Iaai is notorious for loading pictures very early. It could be 3 months before this goes live. I think this car can be fixed.

It sucks to see that car in that condition. Most definitely ruined someone's day/month/year.

That didn't take long. The VIN shows it was a museum delivery on 8/29/2018 and sold by Kerbeck. A couple weeks later it's totaled. It doesn't even show the 500 mile oil change was completed.

By the color, damage and options - Looks to be the same car in the Mexican Ambulance pic?

No, but at least an instructor can provide you with some warning as to what happens when you do something stupid, before you do something stupid!

I thought the same, but the wing is damaged in the Spanish ambulance picture and this one is not.

They are close, I will give you that, but the damage is significantly different. I looked at it again and thought they were the same car for just a sec. The rear wing is still straight on the Oklahoma car and the left sided triangle window is shattered on the Oklahoma car. Definitive proof comes by way of the Spanish car's Airbag being popped and the Oklahoma car's still being intact. It also looks like the Spanish car could have some front end damage, or the hood could have been popped for other reasons

The pic that I originally posted of the crashed Sebring Orange C7 ZR1 in Puebla City, Mexico had splitter end caps installed. The one in the auction does not.

Insurance appraiser here, man I'm at my local IAA (Insurance Auto Auctions) yards almost everyday here in Long Island. I think I'll take the stock number and look this car up tomorrow if I can. I may not have access depending on what insurance company handled the claim but there are always about 30 more pics that you can't see on the public website. However the yard attendants taking the pics suck at capturing the damage details, so...... LOL
