My LMB C6 Salvage Build
I picked up a 2005 base C6 with a salvage title. My basic plan is to get the car mechanically right, install a wide body kit, then wheels and custom paint. From there I would like to enjoy the car by driving, fabricating parts to install, and maybe a few engine mods.
I started the process in May of 2018. Two years after selling my 08 Z06. It is now October 2018 and I am driving the car, finishing some small details, and trying to decide my next move.
Here is a pic from the day I brought it home. I will post some additional info in a day or two.

Step one getting it road worthy.
The drivers door is trash and has no mirror. The front nose is broken in a couple places. There is no drivers headlight. The aperture is busted and there is a lot of wind noise with it partially missing. The radiator support is broken. The front wheel is tilted in. The driver seat airbag deployed.
At this point I have only observed about 30 minutes of idling, several cycles of the cooling fans operating, checked all the fluids before and after running the car, and drove it a little in a parking lot. Everything seems ok so far.
I looked high high and low for matching LMB panels for a little while. I only need a few parts to get it on the road and looking good as a base model. I found a few LMB parts. But, was unable to secure all needed parts in LMB. I gave up and purchased a door shell, mirror, and radiator support.
The door shell was easy but cumbersome. It was time consuming switching all of the components from one shell to the other.
The radiator support was easy. I was able so remove the old one and install the new one without removing anything except the support and some factory wire holding devices.
The mirror was easy. Unfortunately I may have ended up with a nicer mirror than I originally had. I suspect it needs a signal or to lose a signal from the computer to make the mirror chrome like the original mirror. It looks kind of tinted right now. Works fine. Any help available here would be appreciated.

I am assuming by "chrome" you mean the auto dimming feature on the mirror. If your car does not have the auto dimming inside mirror I don't think the door mirror will work. I am not sure if different years are compatible with this feature either.
Good luck, it is always good to see one saved from the crusher.

Moving right along. Time to replace the inner fender. I'm digging for additional pics. Only finding one. My original intent was to glue it back on. Thinking it would be good practice for the upcoming aperture install. Removal was pretty easy since there was no reason to save the existing part. A crowbar and a few screwdrivers removed the remaining fender easily. Some chisel work and heat got the majority of the glue off. The remaining was removed with a flap wheel.
While practicing aligning the panel using several factory pieces of glue as a guide. I Decided to use a reasonably close 3m replacement for the glue and add 5 strategically located rivet nuts in the firewall. I used the rivet nuts and fender washers to align and place the inner fender a couple times. Then put everything together.
At this point in the build. A friend and I are talking about engines for his upcoming factory five truck build. We talk about this salvage LMB Z06 that happened to be on the same lot when I purchased my LMB base and the thought that I buy the blue parts plus wheels and brakes and he buy the drivetrain and all electrical. I called the dealer and discussed buying all the blue parts. I made an offer slightly higher than a split with my friend and was turned down. We knock this idea around for a little while. While my friend and try to agree on price. I start wondering about paint match, tweaked panels from obvious major frame damage on the Z, the drivetrain being good for my accomplice etc..... The car then disappears from eBay. Then re appears the next week and disappears at the end of the week.
I call the seller and discuss the sale. He states the sale fell through and he has interest in selling the blue parts. He asks for a list of parts that I want so he can provide a price. I ask him to price the parts and find out what I can buy the entire car for today. I then call my friend to give him an update and see if he has gained interest in the LS7 drivetrain.

Anyone know which wire and whether to apply power or ground to bypass the dimming feature?
