Default Clay bar

Hello, I just got done using the speed clay 2.0 on my car(which by the way works awesome!). My question is can I switch to use it on my glass window? I tried to clean the hatch window and it just won’t come clean. Is it ok to switch back and forth between paint and glass?

I do it all the time on the outside using a clay bar and it works great.

No issues switching back and forth. I too picked up speed clay recently and can't ever see going back to regular bar clay. Happy detailing.

Pick up a random orbital buffer -- that will become your new favorite tool!

You can use clay on any part of the car that is not fabric or leather. Works great on glass, headlight lens, glass tops, wheels, just about anything.

A vote here for the Nanoskin sponge.

The fine grade I use, on a already kept up car, works easily with no kneading required and no worries if dropped.

PS....Should have looked up the product Clay Bar2 before posting.

Works like the sponge but might be easier to hold on to!! Which is a con for the smaller sponge I use.

Not sure about leaving fine marks, I know the "fine" grade Nanoskin doesn't.

Ok so I ended up using the 2.0 on the paint and the glass. Worked awesome!! Also put a coat of McGuire’s wax on it and used the Dr. Colorchip on front clip and hood of car. All worked great!!

THREW MY CLAY BARS AWAY !!!!! After learning how to use this, but you do have to use a lot of detailing product along with it or it "grabs" the surface, other than that it RULES and so fast

To achieve a great paint finish, wash, clay, polish, seal and wax. You can DIY or have it professionally done depending on how much of an investment you want to make in detailing equipment and product and how much time you want to spend.

Cobra clay pad

This is one of the greatest detailing products I have. This with my PC7424XP and I can go beast mode on detailing my car. If you have a Random Orbit polisher, I would suggest investing in this pad.

Prediction......20 years from now ( I may not be around to see it) all detailers and car people will be saying..."I can't believe that years ago we use to think that rubbing a piece of clay around on our paint was actually good for it"....

I doubt it. I have detailed for 20+ years and I can't believe we use to polish/wax without decontaminating the paint first. If you clay the paint correi, it is as smooth as a baby's butt.
