Default From Z07 tire to what....

I know this has been asked a few times but its always more around traction. I have a 2017 grand sport that came with the z07 package. I'm going to need new tire fairly soon. I'm looking for something that gets descent mileage on longer trips, but still has good grip for performance driving. I will be adding a supercharger to my car next year so I may have to reevaluate my tire selection at that time. Any suggestions?

The PSS ZP that comes on the non Z07 cars will last longer and provide good grip. Of course if you add more power it may be easy to break them loose with sudden throttle application in the lower gears but that doesn't mean the tires don't have lots of grip or don't handle well.

Yep, PSS ZP is as good as it gets currently.

Check out Michelin as3+zp. I just put them on my z06 and they are an excellent tire.

Mine lasted almost 10k till I picked up a nail in the rear tires and decided to replace all corners with the AS3. The AS3 has superior transaction in the colder weather and quieter on the road as well.

A fair amount of us have gone with the Continentals which are not run flats. They ride easier, are quieter and seem to last longer. I am at over 7k miles with mine and they still look and ride good. The only down side I think is that the transition from side wall to tread is more rounded than the Michelins and make them look a bit more European than American muscle. You can search for other threads on here about them. You will find plenty of info.

Define “last”...

My 2016 Z07 CUP 2s just passed TX state inspection with 9500 miles. Of course when down to below the legal limit of 2/32nds they still are good for the track.

I swapped my cup 2's to continentals, it felt like a different car. Grip is there but not as great as cup2's but I think they are a good middle for me between comfort, grip and long lasting

The Michelin PSS ZP is a great tire. I track my car (c7 ZO6) and have ran the sport cups and PSS ZP with only a slight traction advantage going to the sport cups. The PSS ZP should give you almost double amount of miles.

If you only had a slight advantage from the cup2 zps, you aren't driving your car to their potential. They are worth at least a couple of seconds over the pss zps.
