69' headlight washer (replacement) solenoid photo request
Hi,
I'm replacing a half missing headlight washer solenoid with a replacement and it's got an exposed two spade connection but no pig tail leads that go up to the wiper washer motor like the original had. There are some leads that connect to the solenoid that have an extra spade for the harness connection then barrel ends for the washer pump. I'm wondering how that looks? It seems it makes that area really long and my thought is that it will interfere with the firewall...though they make them, so they must work? Anyway, I'd like to see if anyone has any photos of the replacement solenoid and how it's wired?
Thanks!

Sorry, don't have a pic of this side at hand (only from the passengers side).
You can find a lot of pics, wire diagrams and helpful hints on Willcocx' web site.
If you can't find what you are looking for I can try to take a pic.

Part of the problem is that I cannot seem to find any photos of the replacement solenoid and how it should be set-up with the leads. Wilcox is a great resource but again, I can't seem to find any photos or diagrams with the replacement.

Yes, mine does not have that connection that has the two jumpers it's just a dual spade connector is yours original? I guess i need to get jumper wires as there's nothing to attach to the barrel connector at the washer pump. Vendors sell them I just didn't know how that's supposed to work.

If my memory serves me right (without checking my docs or google) the solenoid is used to get water to the headlamp washer nozzles each 5 (or so) windshield washer squirts.
Do you have the correct harness in your car? There should be the right connector at the right place.

It's the right harness and connector, it's the solenoid itself that has a different connector. The OE had a cover over the spade connections and the cover also had two wires that would connect to the washer pump. The replacement solenoids did not have the cover with the two extra wires...it's just the two spade connectors that the harness connects to. There are jumper wires available to make the connection like the OE and that's what I'm hoping someone has a few photos of. Make sense? It's a little confusing.

Below is from my 69. The two black jumper wires which almost look like an afterthought or add on come off the plug below the washer pump. One off the yellow and one off the blue wire. One goes to each side of the front of the wiper motor. The plastic piece on the front of the wiper motor that is open on each end is where they attach and you can see the black wire on the right side of the opening in the pic which is jumpered from the yellow on the pump. The blue on the pump goes to the left side of that opening at the front of the wiper motor on my car. Below is a link for the 2 jumper wires that plug in between the washer pump and electrical plug then extend over to the front of the wiper motor.

Maybe this will help some too, the hoses are shown in the lower left of this picture.

Thanks Ernie... The photo/diagram you posted has the original solenoid. The replacement does not come with that cover that has the extra wires that go to the washer. So, the leads shown in your picture are what I'm hoping someone has a photo of - how that assembles. That's what I can't seem to find a photo of.

The 2 black wire jumper leads in the Wilcox link I posted and in Ernie's pic above are installed between the male plug on the washer and the female end of the harness plug. You can see the male/female adapter on the black wires. They just plug in between the the washer and harness plug and then run to the front of the wiper motor. The angled piece on each connector that the black wire comes out of faces down. Pull the harness plug off then install the female end of the black jumper wire connector on the washer solenoid then install the harness plug on the male end of the black jumper wire connector.
