Default :Updated Render:

Here is an updated render I managed to do based off the all the talk on these threads of the “Faux” camo panel on the side vent. Now based off spy shots of the car having a different shape vent under the fabric this is almost 100% what it should look like on the side. As far as taillights that’s still up in the air.
THIS IS CORVETTE FORUMS ORIGINAL PHOTO. Just edited it.

Putting the correct rear fascia on it would help it a lot:

^^^ Ya, this grey render rear end is literally a box with holes in it. Very uninspired and very unobservant/lazy. Also, hijacking 2019 Camaro lights and slapping it on there makes the ultra-square shape clash even further.

OP, I respect your rendering skills. I can't do a lick of it. IMHO the guy who has come the closest incorporating the leaked pic of the actual rear fascia into a rendering on the car is FVS. Here is his work (hat tip to FVS):

Yep, FVS is the closest. Small problem in his **** end render:

D'oh!

Problem is, he's trying to interpret something on which Peter's team seemed a bit lost. The hind end of the C8 is it's worst face which is too bad since it's the part most everyone will see.

Thanks.

I think the discrepancy is that the paint shop image is taken from underneath and the render is shown from above.

The rear of the car bulges outward in the center. It is not "flat"

The paintshop image from below shows the "hollow" of the bulge while the render from slightly above shows an outward bulge.

The image below really shows the round curve or the rear surface. Look at that spoiler curve!

Wondering what that "overhang" is in the center just below the spoiler? Sure looks like the 488 blown spoiler but there are brake lights in the way... Hope it not just to protect the Lic. plate from rain! ; )

Not bad looking, although it does make me have the same thought I have about the C7, it will look better with that lower black part painted or wrapped body color.

Damn FVS that looks great! I hope the C8's rear looks that good, it looks mean and sleek.

People who said that about the C7 and then painted the bottom body-colored ended up ruining their cars (IMHO). There is a reason the bottom of the C7 is black: It makes the rear end look wider and not so tall. Painting the bottom wrecks all of that. Perhaps the C8 will be the same. We won't know until it is revealed.

There is a chamfered edge above the rear lamps which leads me to believe it is for such a wing. There is a curved ramp that looks like a landing for a diffuser.

I like the C8, might like to have one, but that rear end is downright butt ugly. Looks like they ran out of computer time and let an intern pen the rear.

I like where your head is at... (Shaka)

Here is a fairly nice CU of the rear with decent shadows where you can see the features you are referring to and an older active aero wing which would be very cool.

Of course it does not show the correct shapes or attack angles but demonstrates the concept.

I'll see if I work up a better rear view with these features.
