Default Adding PS and PB to a C3

Is it possible to add PS and PB to a car? Thinking of buying a C3 that doesn’t have PS or PB.

Default P/s & p/b

I added P/S & P/B to my 65. The C3 is very similar. The vendors like Willcox have kits for the power steering. Others have kits for the power brakes. Not a hard job.

Yes. Both were factory options until they became standard equipment. The assembly instruction manual shows the installation of each and lists the original part numbers for the parts required.

My Corvette didn't come with PS or PB from the factory. I just installed a Borgeson power steering box and pump two weeks ago.(best mod ever). I've been driving the car for 18 years without power brakes and like the way they feel. You just need to use a little more "leg" to get the car to stop.

Yes, I have a 69 where I added PB and PS.
PS is a peace of cake, PB is a PITA (if you buy a car which is not disassembled). Mounting the PB booster needs small hands, a good tool set (extensions) and a lot of patience.

As others have said it's very do-able. But if you can not do yourself it's going to be a bit pricey. If you have to send it out maybe look for a car set up the way you want it.

Power brakes will not stop the car any better. It will provide the same 'stopping power' with a lot less pedal effort. If stopping power is your issue, bleed air from the system and/or change brake pads to a different material. The only reason for PB is when trying to steer from a dead stop.

dumb question. Why not just find a Corvette that has the options you want? There are plenty of them out there & it wont cost you a lot of money & time to buy & install all the aftermarket stuff. Makes no sense to me.

I added power brakes because its a smart mod for quick stops to avoid all the bad drivers texting or just plain stupid on the road today. If you pull the steering column (which I had out for a tilt column upgrade) it gives you alot more room to work with. I had the z bar out for a heim joint clutch rod upgrade as well. Its not too difficult, I got all my parts from Oreillys and it wasnt expensive. Just make sure if you buy the parts seperate, that you get the power brake master cylinder. And bleed the master cylinder before you install it...... Good luck

Well, if you think you received "dumb answers", maybe this isn't the Forum for you. From what I read, you received nothing but fair responses. If you already had decided what you wanted, maybe you just didn't ask the right questions.

bolts right in, buy correct components and bolt them on.
PB booster will require a couple holes to be drilled.
