Default White smoke

I was out driving around for about an hour today, I slowed down for a light and then gave some gas "not a lot" and all of a sudden a puff of white smoke was coming out the rear of the car. It lasted about five seconds, couldn't see behind me and then it was gone. Got home a minute later and looked under the car and didn't see anything unusual. Any thoughts?

If it was cool enough out side, it was likely water vapor. When the warm exhaust hits the cooled air.

How thick was the white smoke? Stock car or modified?

Mine (2016) has done that once when I hit the skinny pedal fairly hard. Hasn't done it again though. Since it was white it didn't bother me much, and I'd forgotten about it until you posted. I'm thinking it's nothing serious. At least I hope it ain't.

White smoke is often coolant. Blue smoke is oil. Stick your finger in the exhaust and see if there is residue, and see if it smells like oil or coolant. I've been known to taste test to see if a dark fluid is gas or oil, but that's me

Fuel could have just loaded up in cylinders briefly for any number reasons causing the light colored smoke.

Monitor your coolant level and pay closer attention to the exhaust for a while especially when accelerating hard and then leaving off the throttle. White smoke is an indication of very small amounts of water/coolant in the combustion chambers. I say very small amounts since anything larger pretty much starts to break things inside the engine. Coolant can get into the combustion chambers through cylinder wall cracks or leaking head gaskets.

I drive in sport mode but the exhaust is normally open in track mode, I wonder if that could have caused it.

I doubt it as my '17 GS is always in Sport mode with exhaust always open and I haven't experienced any smoking.

It sounds like the issue I had and they discovered cylinder 1 spark plug was fouled and had a lot of oil. I only have 16,000 miles so am somewhat concerned about it. They fixed the issue, but I’m hopeful it doesn’t happen again.

My 2015 with 13K started blowing white smoke today with wife driving it maybe 40 miles. I met her and it blows smoke upon acceleration from a stop and when I give it some gas up to 2Krpm in D or M, doesn’t matter. Car is rarely driven and last time out had oil change. Stick shows full and clear. I do not know where the transmission dip stick is located (my bad). Letting car cool before checking coolant level. A bit of rougher than normal idle but minor to me. May be fouled plug. Will take to great little shop that did oil change and if not obvious then off to dealership. I have not removed a spark plug from a Vette since my 69’s and they were PITA did it from underneath on a lift. Scared hell out of wife. It was closer to white than black smoke. Burning something for sure. We had the big freeze down here in Texas but garage never hit 32 degrees. Advice appreciated.

To my knowledge the tranny doesn't have a dipstick. Could be coolant. Have your mechanic check the coolant for combustion gases. If you are running the factory recommended coolant blend, you should be good for well below 0*.

I had a friend whos seldom 2014 did this several times on a corvette drive, I was behind him and noticed it. We discussed it and later he had his car checked out and there were no issues. We believe it was water in the exhaust since he seldom drove it and washed it a lot.

That is what my mechanic said today, probably just water via condensation front eh bad weather down here.
He checked the coolan/oil and ran the scanner for any codes- Nothing was there. Vehicle did not smoke when I drove it 11 miles.
I had half a tank of gas so I topped it off with premium, damn gotten expensive hasn’t it?
