Default What do you think of the new "Shock" color?

The Camaro team is offering a new color called "Shock" for 2019 models (feels weird that they are just now switching over to '19's). I would love to see this and other bright, high-impact colors find their way to the Corvette. I believe that the Z06 and ZR1 could pull off a color like this quite easily. I am tired of being jealous of the color palette that my Mopar (and to a lesser extent, Ford) friends have to choose from.

Also, bring back Hugger Orange!

That car is hideous.

GM should offer colors that arent offered with Z06/GS/Stingray so ZR1 can stand out even more.

Mopar and Ford have always had a better color palette IMO. I agree it would be nice to see GM stretch out a little. While the above color is not for me I like it!

I love the color. Don't like the 19 front end.

I think that color would look great on a Z06/ZR1.

I think it is almost unanimous that the '19 refresh was a swing and a miss for Chevy (though this one that they are testing at SEMA with the center bar on the grille painted is a big improvement over the huge grille opening on the current production 19's). Thank you for looking past the unsightly car and focusing on the paint. It is very similar to Lamborghini's "Verde Scandal" and the "Lime Essence" color that Aston Martin chose to show off on the new V8 Vantage which I think look great!

Exotic colors like this should be on cars like Corvette, hell yes. GM plays it too conservative with Vette, and we get the same crappy colors all the time. Part of me blames some of the Corvette clientele as well and GM's inability to listen to those that don't buy a Corvette but would if they did X.

Don't get me wrong though, all the Daytona Oranges, Black Rose, Supersonic, Elkhart Lake, Admiral (just to name a few) are some great colors that have been used, but GM is too conservative with Corvette. Especially with the C7 and its shock to the Corvette design language.

If Aston Martin can sell a car in that color, no reason Corvette can't, and they would sell every one they built too.

Just get a wrap in that color...it's easier than painting the car. And when you get tired of the color, you can pull off the wrap!

Isn't the bowtie in the middle of the bumper on the '19 Camaro and not on the grille and isn't the bumper painted black?

I think it would make the ZR1 LOOK more exotic. ( Even though it already is exotic). Especially the C8 ME with this color. I would welcome additional color choices.

It should (and bold colors like it) be offered though. Don't like it, don't buy it, but GM should offer none the less. I can go to Porsche and get paint to sample/exclusive series colors, I can go to Aston/Lambo/Ferrari and choose a huge variety of colors, yet GM offers Corporate grays, corporate white, corporate blacks, corporate silvers, and then throws in 4-5 exclusive to Vette colors that are just variations of blue and red and green, or are from another GM car or then get used on another GM product. Then they dangle them out to customers for one model year, limit the production run time, and then get rid of it.

GM doing a PTS/1 of 1 program is the dream. People are willing to pay to get their favorite color/something unique on their new cars. Paint to sample on a GT3 costs $12,830. That is pretty steep; they also charge $4,220 for their "special colors" (equivalent of the $995 that 'Vette owners are shilling out for Sebring Orange, LB Red, and CR Yellow). At that exchange rate, GM could offer PTS for $3,025 which seems pretty low but something along the lines of what FCA did with the Viper program (stepping up from a base Viper SRT or GT to the customizable GTC jumped the price up about $8k) sounds about right. It would make GM money, get the cars taken more seriously, bring in new business, and most importantly make a lot of customers happy.
If they don't want to go as far as a true Paint to Sample system, just unlocking the back catalog of GM colors would be a great start.
