How do I make it louder?
So, embarrassing situation- I rolled into a parking lot and a teenager asked me how my exhaust sounded. I blipped the throttle and got the weakest little wheeze, sounded like a miata. I have heard of removing a fuse on C6 to keep the NPP in the open mode. Is there something similar on the C7 GS? If so, is there a downside to doing it?

Borla or Corsa Xpipe will make a nice difference. I just did the Borla and am very happy with it.

I put B&B Fusion on my C6 and I love the sound. I'm not wanting to mod the C7 too much yet, was just hoping for a quick, cheap way to improve.

Yes, there is a fuse you can pull to keep them open all the time. Fuse number 41 on the 2014 model. Fuse number 42 on the 2015 up through 2018 models. Fuse number 87 on the 2019 model.

I'll have to look into that. I've heard mixed reports.

I've been wondering if anyone has installed electronic exhaust cutouts on a C7? If installed near the header I would imagine it would be pretty freakin loud.
I had one on my turbo TA, but the turbo kinda of quiets the open exhaust, but on a naturally aspirated application I would think it would be loud as hell.
There may not be room under there to install them close to the header and it may cause the o2 sensors to read incorrectly, dunno.

Did you have the exhaust set to Track mode settings?

If you have an A8, Range all the way. You don't wanna deal with torque converter issues down the road.
I have Mild2Wild on my C7Z. I need the valves to be closed when start the Z up in the AM so as to not **** off my neighbors.

This will only work if you have the. NPP exhaust. Pulling the fuse does not make a huge change from the track setting and there is no difference at idle. The exhaust has valves that you can see through the 2 outer exhaust tips if you have the NPP exhaust. Setting the sound management to "Track" opens those valves most of the time including idle. The valves do close in a range of RPMs (I don't remember the range of RPMs but I believe it is high teens to mid 2000; someone else will probably chime in on that with the exact numbers). The reason that the valves close in that range is to meet federal noise guidelines. Pulling the fuse will keep the valves open the entire time. If your exhaust was very quiet you may have had the system set to touring. So bottom line is that you will only gain a louder exhaust in that range with the fuse pulled. Pulling the fuse will not throw any codes. I usually have mine pulled unless I am going on a trip and want the ability to quiet the exhaust. I also put the fuse back in once in a while to "exercise the valves" so they don't freeze up. That may not be necessary, just me being a little ****. If you want the exhaust to be significantly louder you need to go the route others are recommending. Good luck.

Agreed...make sure you had it in track mode before wasting money on exhaust. If you're going to do exhaust, keep the NPP, but replace all the junk between the engine and NPP with good headers and high flow cats...

There are many Cutouts done to C7's but I would start by doing 1 at a time... I stopped at number 2...
1. pull fuse
2. Change X pipe
3. change CAT back exhaust system or cutouts
number 3 will just change the sound profile...

Outside of parts removal/replacement, in your touch panel, go into settings (gears) and you will find subsections in there for driving mode and engine sound management. Switch it to track, it will keep the baffles open most of the time allowing you to rev the engine to get that sound you are looking for.

You could always bang a nail into the muffler and remove the nail leaving a nice hole
