Nice! What else were you having done to the ZR1? **** load of problem before a successful start for just installing an axle back.

I have the Akra setup as well on my HCIE Z06 and get compliments all the time. Absolutely love the sound of the Akras.

Just curious about the mixed feelings part?

i have akras on my c6z06 and while they look awesome with the carbon tips, Im just not impressed with the sound. This winter Im gonna remove them and get some black tip corsa sports.

A guy on one of the corvette groups on facebook with a c6 grand sport installed a c7 stock axleback. It actually sounds and looks really good. I love the sound of my friends c7z06. Im waiting on more info from him at the moment. I'm considering doing this as well.

Interesting you guys have mixed feelings on the Akra’s I love the sound of my Billy Boat Bullets and the Akra’s would be the only exhaust I’d potential go with besides them. Do you guys also have the Ti versions? Have any of you guys heard the SS vs Ti exhaust in person on two vettes with similar mods?

Mine im pretty sure is the stainless. It came with the car when I bought it. It sounds better since I put headers and a xpipe.

I love the more exotic sound of corsa and other systems.

I don't think there's difference in sound. It's just the weight. I've heard they don't sell the Ti anymore for the C6.

I know they just made and released new sets of Akra’s recently, lots of vendors posting limited batch sales. Since I’ve had bigger concerns and am happy with my bullets I never checked if it was SS only. I missed out on a used Ti cat back system several months ago, I think they were $1800 2k max but I literally sent the money to a forum member for the bullets the day prior. Don’t think I could bring myself to spend the 4K+ for the Ti version new anyway. I just thought maybe the different metals would have a somewhat different pitch I definitely like the sound of Akra’s though, I also thinks it’s a little bit of the rarity that draws me to them. You don’t run into guys with Arka’s often in my case never but I guess it depends on location. Keep the vids coming “E”!!! How are the dogs doing?

We only offer the stainless versions now, no more titanium !

Even the stainless is a limited batch.

I changed the heads, switched to yella terra rockers, Johnson short travels, all new Kong set up, and a level 6 rpm trans... so it was much more then a exhaust swap.

here’s why I have mixed feelings, the valves will not open or close the flaps all the way. No matter how they are adjusted, your either closed all the way and they don’t open all the way, or the opposite. I love the look of the exhaust tips and the manufacturing of the ak. But honestly other then the tips I couldn’t say the exhaust is worth the $3500+ Price tag. It is a little deeper then my stock exhaust, but not nothing to write back about and say it sounds way better. For the price you can buy a lot of other things that will actually improve the hp and performance of the car. I seriously have wanted to try this exhaust out since I purchased the cause, so I bought it. But I wouldn’t say it’s a must have over other exhausts.

I recently noticed my valves were not closing all the way. It ended up being the vacuum solenoid that attaches to the exhaust went bad. This is a GM part.

definitely not the problem, the adjustment on the exhaust isn’t long enough.

If you don't like it, put it in the for sale section, take a couple bucks off and I'm sure it will sell pretty fast. The bi mode is known to have an occassional vacuum leak, hose behind manifold, 90 degree piece going into firewall and the solenoid under the bumper as another said. I'm with the others, love mine.

thanks for the constructive criticism. The just cause I said I'm not 100% sold on the exhaust doesn't mean i'm pulling it off and selling it for a loss. I think I left of the part out that I mainly bought the exhaust for the functionality of the valve's and the carbon tips. So if it sounded it exactly like stock I still would have purchased it.

IMO the car has a very nice tone. The carbon tips + bi mode is enough to have me sold on it lol. I'll be looking for a set soon for my C6Z

Those are some expensive tips.

Not sure whats not to like about the Akra;'s...? I love everything about mine and I have no issues with the valves. Sounds great open or closed. Plenty of people inquire about them and not everybody runs em. I came from the BB Fusions which were awesome!! But I couldn't pass on these. A guy was selling his ZR1 and removed em to put the stock cat back on. I paid $1700 for them.. Sold my Fusions for $1100... So, I have $600 in this cat back.... At your $3500 price tag I love mine all the more.
