Default Tinted windshield affect HUD?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tinted the windshield on a C5? If so does it affect the performance of the HUD?

It will work fine. If you are tinting for heat I'd suggest the 3M clear product. I did it on my Chevy Volt and it works well and I can actually still see at night. If it's for looks then have fun

I tinted the windshield on my 02Z last year with heat reflective tint that is 50% and I can still see my HUD just fine.

I have 20% all around. If I drove my car at night more often, I'd prefer 35 or 50 on the windshield. Just food for thought.

It's against the law to have any on the windshield here. I'm shocked at how many guys are able to do it.

Same here. It’s not that big of a deal for me to chance it.

when I first got my C5, I went one day to the Chinese restaurant to pick up my takeout lunch, and the cops circled my car three times, I had to assume they were looking at tint. My side and rear windows were tinted but the windshield was fine. For all I know the side windows may have been illegal, I'm not even sure what the limits are for that here in Pennsylvania. But you're not allowed to have much. But I can guarantee you if I had some on the windshield they'd have been all over it.

I live in California and it's not legal. It is a minor fix it ticket that cost around $25 if you remove the tint. My F150 has limo all around and 30% on the windshield and I rarely have cops bother with it . I have had the truck for 7 years with the same tint. I was given a ticket once for it. They don't seem to care to much about it.

When I had a challenger I had all window tinted to the max by law. Never had a problem with Leo. Windshield made a huge difference, biggest glass on care.

Also in Kalifornia, and as long and you don't go darker than 50% on the sides or windshield LEO's generally don't bother you, but if they can't see you inside you're just asking to be pulled over.

I had it installed but it wasn't cut right and didn't eliminate much glare so I had it removed. No one wanted to remove the mirror for fear of breaking the glass, it's an auto dim one.
