abs /climate control issue
i have a 2001 coupe that I have started having an issue with. Started out as a sporadic thing once every 2 months or so now it is every time I drive my car. When I first start up the abs light is on and my climate control is off. nothing works on the climate control completely dead. after I drive for 15 -30 minutes the climate control comes on and the abs light goes off. they always come and go together. I am thinking this is a ground issue and they may share the same grounding point.. does anyone know which ground these may be connected t0. or have any other ideas as to what these two thing have in common. after the climate control comes ao everything works fine until it turn it off and restart the car.

ABS and HVAC do not share a ground. You should post up your codes (with the car running, before shutting off). Post your codes up here for people to help you.
How to pull codes. http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php
You should read through this thread. It could be your problem. The short answer from the thread .. Ignition Switch.

Based on your symptoms you probably have a bad ignition switch. Codes will be needed to verify.
I have seen a similar issue and rebuilding/cleaning the ignition switch contacts did resolve the problem.
As posted above pull the codes and post them here so we can determine a troubleshooting process to go through.
How mechanically/electrically inclined are you? Do you know how to use a multi-meter to measure voltages? A good multi-meter will be an invaluable tool working on a C5 or newer corvette.

Replaced my ignition switch and all the issues similar to yours are gone. Have driven over 400 miles since changing it and not a single code. Not difficult to install and around 60 bucks online.

good job -- It's great not having any issues pop up while driving--Still no codes after replacing mine
