No wobble ever, Buttttt !!!!
(1999 coupe with 84 K) When going to the Doc. the other day and after the 45 min. drive I heard my belts squealing bad, drove it home (wondering if I was going to make it ???) about 2 miles to go it stopped, thought that is strange, got home and my damper outside piece (pulley) is 3/4 moved to the rack side !!!!!!! The cam and heads was supposed to happen in a couple months, now it will have to happen sooner. My question is if I don't want to spend 300 plus for a ATI would this one be a good choice ??? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...model/corvette

If you need to save a couple of bucks, go with the Powerbond PB1117N, but use an ARP bolt.

Bummer, Pounder. I hope she's up and running soon. A nice heads/cam combo was my next step before selling my Z06. Interested to see the results of your build.

Pounder.....I put that exact damper on my 215k mile C5. It has performed perfectly with 0 movement. The only thing I will say is that it is an 8 rib balancer so the 2 forward grooves will not be used. No biggie.

Sounds like a good option for you. At least you were able to get it home OK.

Thats a nice HB, I was going to purchase that one but decided later to go with the PB1117N , I knew I wasn't going to track the car and a $73.00 Powerbond with the ARP bolt would be fine.
I am happy with it.

My z06 has the stock balancer still, but my LS swapped rx7 has an ATI with an ARP bolt. If I ever do a cam swap on my z06 I absolutely will go with another ATI.
You’re spending how much on a cam swap but going to balk at the extra $100 to get the best product and make your car the most reliable? Once you have the ATI in hand you’ll be happy you spent the extra change

my tuner says a 19 year old car will have major deterioration in the rubber of the damper, plus most new ones use a better compound ??? makes sense to me ???

well logic says if it lasted 19 years and 84 k must not be a horrible product ???? I WILL buy a better than stock one !!! just getting info and parts together for the cam/head job !!!! first project is swapping the trans in the 02 Z then rebuild that trans for the 99 !!!!!! it will be a totally different car when done !!!!

Well, whatever you decide to do, the difference between a good balancer and the best balancer is like 2 tanks of gas worth of money. Not really a whole lot if you ask me!

The Summit Balancer looks pretty good. Make sure to use an ARP bolt with whichever one you choose.
Good luck with the build.
