Default Axle back install question

Hey guys, I just ordered the Hooker Blackheart muffler delete axle back system for my 2015 Z. I was reading over Borla's instructions on installation of their axle back and they have you removing the x pipe to install the axle back. Is this true? Do you need to remove the x pipe to install an axle back assembly? Doesn't seem like you would have to...

I don't see why you would have to remove the Xpipe if you're only doing an axle back swap

You do need to remove the centre x-pipe. Not enough room to extract the old exhaust and install the new. I've done 3 Z06's and the centre section had to be removed on all three. It's not that difficult and makes the job so much easier.

I left the x pipe on when I did mine, but I did remove the rear fascia. took longer to remove and install the fascia than the axle back

So if you remove the rear diffuser then do you not have to remove the x pipe?

I have a 16z and I didn’t have to remove the xpipe. I did have to remove the rear lower fascia. If your doing it on the floor you just have to raise the rear high enough to remove the stock mufflers.
