Anyplace to Refurb Powder Coated Valve Covers?
I'm finally doing some work on my '82 Collectors Edition. Here are a couple of questions somebody might have an answer for:
1. Does anybody know a place that does refurbishment of the black powder coated cast aluminum valve covers? Which by the way are a pain in the *** to remove and replace.
2. Has anybody every used the Stage 8 Locking fasteners on this type of cover?
Thanks!

If your valve covers are original, they are magnesium and painted, not powder coated.

Where are you located? Most metropolitan areas have sandblast/glass bead services that do work for the general public. If there aren't any in your area, how about auto restoration shops, or "upper end" body shops?

Be sure to advise that the covers are magnesium. They will require special effort to paint or powdercoat. Magnesium is more porous and needs extra attention to get all contaminates out before coating.

any Powder coating shop has the capability to strip/media blast parts.
it is required preperation before powder coating.
