Default History of Stingray emblem

Those of us with a seventh generation Corvette are well aware of the distinctive stingray emblem. I was so taken with it that I ordered one for my toolbox. The question is does anyone know when Chevrolet first used this emblem? I'm not talking about the word "stingray" but the emblem. Let's see how well you guys know your history. Before anyone asks-yes I know the answer.

If you mean the fish, that was exclusive to the C7, no?

No, the emblem of the fish (sting ray) appeared in 1958 on the Stingray racer as well as the 59 El Camino that pulled the race trailer.

The one that appears on our cars is actually based off the 2009 Concept:

I don't recall ever seeing an actual Stingray/fish emblem on the C3s, until the C7. They could have done without it too.

But it's here......and the front fender Stingrays that adorn them, that resemble a catfish OR a banjo are staying on my C7 Stingray. 👍

The best would have been the from end of a C7 and the back end of that car.

The C7 emblem is cool, but the Stingray logo looks... fishy I never liked it, and it was the sole reason that I went with the Z06. OK, maybe there were others...

If you mean "Stingray" emblem

The emblem can be found by searching for "1974-1976 Corvette Side Stingray Emblem " in Google.
I believe I bought them here: http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...1974-1976.html
Cost me $25 for each emblem back in Oct. 2013...much more expensive now.
The emblem has double side tape, which is all I used and still holding fine.
It has two posts about 1/2 inch long for OEM install on '74 cars. You will need to dremel these off and file stubs smooth.

That concept car was too much too soon. I could see that concept as self driving electric. Of course the technology is already there. Just a matter of time for the vette. SWAG is C9. Let the hate begin. It's pending regardless.
