Going to be a Corvette owner again ?? !!
Hello,
I have had the pleasure of owning 3 corvettes. The first was a 1979 'muscle car' version. My second was a 1996 Silver Collector's Edition. My last one was a 1999 that I owned for over 12 years......then I sold it. I've been w/o a Vette for over 3 years now and can't stand it any longer. I am going to buy another (I drove a 2017 ZO6 for an afternoon and got hooked again!!!)
What I really like is the 2014 or 2015 Crystal Red with Kalahari interior....the 3LT version (I do like the Laguna Blue as an alternate choice). I really like the 'brown' on the dash and the door panels. Would any of you 3LT owners be willing to share with me any likes or dislikes you have encountered with this vehicle. Any recalls? Any idiosyncrasies?
thanks

I have a 2015 3LT crystal red convertible with the full Kalahari interior-there is no crimson red on the C7. The car has been perfect. I have the 7 speed stick-the 2015 8 speed automatics trans have been very problematic while the 2014 6 speed automatic has been bullet proof. It is a shame that some Kalahari parts became black after 2015 in the 3LT. Are you looking for a Z06 as 2015 was the first year.

thanks for the correction............I knew it was the 'Crystal' Red but why I wrote Crimson????
No, I won't be looking for the ZO6. A 'Stingray' version will be good enough. Thanks for the insight about the transmissions. I prefer the manual shift but if one had the 'auto' I'd be OK but maybe not in your noted year.

Mine's a 2017 3LT Jet Black interior. I love it. No problems with mine.

You should always be a Corvette owner (nice re-entry). I missed the first 24 years of my life, growing up and education got in the way. Not any more.

OK, thanks for the links to the discussions about the leather and dash's.
But there is so much 'back and forth' and even some dissension between responders .....just what is one to believe.
I guess one just needs to go with the choice they want...........and hope for the best????
I've not had dash problems with my previous Vettes but they weren't leather but I did do the window shade and park in the shade whenever out.....so will hope for the best???

It's not going to happen
After searching for the 'specific' year/exterior/interior I have decided to wait. My specific 'want' is few and far between. And due to some circumstances I will have to post pone my search. Hopefully ....... maybe ....... next year I will be able to resume my quest.
thanks to all for answering my questions I have posted.

If you live in a hot weather climate avoid the 3lt like the plague. Mines getting the dash replaced as we speak. 2014 3LT.

Have you test driven the car, and checked it over, ie; GMVIS and Carfax? Still under 3/36 factory warranty too?

In 2014 I bought your car.. 37K miles to date and no problems other that a bad headlight. Keep the leather moist with leather treatment every 2 months and enjoy the car...

Although Im biased cause I have a 2014 Z51 3LT - I think most would agree that its one of the best years to own... There have been several guys post about how the 3LT interior is having issues - I personally have not had any issues but I keep my garaged year round. The one nice thing about a 3LT interior for the 2014, is the amount of interior color that was offered - if you look at my Kalahari interior, you will see the Kalahari color on most of the door panels, and covering almost the entire dashboard up to the windshield...they didn't offer as much "color" in the following years...so a 3LT in 2014 stands out a bit to the guys that know. Now if you get a black interior - you wont be able to tell.
