First Vette - Ready to Mod! :-D
Hi
Wanted to stop by the intro section and say hi to the community. Just picked up my first Corvette a few days ago - 2006 Coupe in red with Z51 package and 6spd Manual Trans. Well used at 80K miles, but that was exactly what I wanted for the price point I had in mind for a fun commuter. Overall car condition is A1, interior looks like it just rolled of the production line and has extensive service history at the main dealer dating back to its purchase date.
She needs a good paint correction to my eye, and a whole host of aftermarket parts to get her to where I want her to be, but for now here is a booty pic from her maiden voyage into my driveway...
You will notice she already has a Corsa Sport exhaust, which I must say sounds fantastic. That is the only aftermarket part on the car as it stands, but I have a few things in the pipeline for my first couple weeks with the car:
New LS7 clutch (Clutch is fine at 80K miles but I want a new clutch for piece of mind going forward with my ownership)
New MGW Short Shift Kit
New MRR Wheels and Pilot 4S Tires (Details once I have received and installed @PK Auto Design
Full 2 step paint correction and coating will be done once the service work has been performed.
Previous car is a 700hp Paxton Supercharged 2015 Mustang GT with GS1R Forgeline wheels, carbon fiber hood, Corsa exhaust etc etc. Still have that car, but am selling it this side of Christmas. You may ask 'why the change from the built Mustang?' ... mainly I just wanted to get back into a manual transmission (Stang' is an Auto) and wanted a 2 seater that I wasn't going to have massive amounts of money invested into. Hence the a well-used C6 fit the bill.
So yea, thats how I ended up here... a new project to build and enjoy as my daily driver. Love the raw driving experience and am looking forward to meeting everyone on the forum.

Thank you! I just hope the eye catching red color isn't going to make me a magnet for local law enforcement

Welcome to the forum, Tim, and congratulations on your nice looking C6!
Don't worry about the color. There is a book titled, "All Corvettes Are Red." Of course, your car's color has been called "Arrest Me Red"!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Making a trip to my local detailing shop today (lucky to live very close to detailing.com headquarters) , going to stock up on some paint correction goodies.
Monday is new LS7 clutch day, followed by new wheels and tires to give her a fresh look
