Turbo charging a Vet, is the expensive way to go, and can make the same HP with a supercharger for half the money.

As for the 05, it has the weakest differential of all the C6's, and just how much HP you can throw at it will be the real question you have to ask.

Since I favor the TVS S/C's for the vets (making max torque by 1.8K), will keep a LS2 in stock form to only 650HP. As for the 05 diff, all depends how you going to use the power and if it going to hold up isntead. For high speed road coarse work, I always treat the drive line like its made of glass, so would not have a problem with it for such. For strip use, diff is not going to hold up long isntead, before you shatter the case with 650hp instead.

I wouldn't put that kind of money into a car with "a lot of miles."

Get a newer LS3 car with low miles and supercharge it.

Go with a supercharger; forget about the turbo.

Then sell it and buy a supercharger. As mentioned before if you go above 650 RWHP you're going to be breaking rear ends.

Not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze on this one. You'll have to keep the boost low... 7-10 pounds max...those hypereutectic pistons don't like to be beat on, and I've seen the ugly results firsthand. (Picture a stack of 100 dollar bills, blowing away in the wind) I'd also upgrade the valve springs and adjust the seat pressures to work with the boost pressures. As everyone else has said, your car responds better to a supercharger, and getting a turbo plumbed in the C6 engine bay isn't easy. It's possible, but likely to cost more money to properly complete than a supercharger would, and still have just a moderate increase in power.

Consider that these cars come from the factory in a fairly high state of tune. That means that getting additional significant gains in power is more expensive that it would be with a motor in a lower state of tune. Back in the day, we used to be able to get an additional 150 horsepower out of a small block Chevy for 750 bucks. The cost is at least double that with the Corvette engines.

Safe power on a stockoem LS2 is about 650hp with a TVS type S/C. I have seen LS2 taken over the 700 mark with centrifugal blowers, but that is for where the motor may only see boost for a few second every few mins instead.

Now if you want to build the motor, OEM LS2 crank will take 1K hp no problem, as well as the block, so it a matter of bringing the other parts like piston and connection rods up to that kind of power/boost rating, that a over spooled TVS-2675 will get you to no problems.

But now that you have 1K hp at the motor, the rest off the drive line is in no way ready for that kind of power (even a TR6060 trans as well) and you going to be going down deeper of rabbit hole upgrades to the drive line to be able to handle that kind of power.

Which leads us all the way down the rabbit hole to the mucky bottom, being that trying to use 1Khp to the wheels to hook up in a C6 at any street speeds, just not going to happen.

On the positive note, most C6's are geared for at least 226mph top speed, and with 1Khp HP and a drive line able to hold it, will be able to be to 226mp pretty quick to rev the car out in 6th gear.
Note, just reving a vet out in 5th gear (175mph and the stock motors do very well to begin with), will be more than 90% of what most C6 vet owners have achieved to begin with.

Its too late now, but its advisable to do the research, know what the entire project entails, what your goals are , and talk to folks who have done it already before buying anything. In general I like turbos over superchargers (except for 'vettes) as OEM applications. But doing a custom turbo application is going to be difficult unless you've bought a full kit?

Call UPP in Colorado Springs. They are Vette turbo specialists. They can sell you what you need to plumb your turbo and tell you if you need to do anything else.
