Default How would you grade this 66?

Owner says it's in "Good" condition.

What say you?

The windshield has a little scratch in it. But the rest should buff out.

Not at all interested. Not until they show the trim tag.

The lift that it sits on, is worth five times what the car will bring at auction. By the same token, he might be selling it as a "cut away" model for schools to use.

I wouldn't want it, but if you do, check the title and vin. Says 66, but has 65 hood, headlight ****, and rear Corvette insignia.

Maybe he is talking about his other 66 Corvette and posted the wrong picture ! I wouldn't buy it for $2400.

Parts car only. A complete mess. Would be upside down restoring it.

At $24K the seller is delusional or on mind-altering substances.

Having just had two cars totaled by Florence, and me trying very hard to not get them totaled but have them repaired, and one of them being a classic I'd owned for 35 years, I was finally talked out my delusion by an overwhelming chorus of opinion by those much more knowledgeable than me, to just move on, and let it go. Which, I did. I wouldn't touch this Mess with a 10 foot pole.

Anytime I see a seller stating Good, Fair or other condition - I figure its most likely two "grades" down from that...

When I read "needs some TLC" that means the some tinkerer has screwed it up so badly it'll take a miracle and sacrificing a goat on the hood to straighten things out...

"Needs tune-up" means nothing other than "overhaul" - if a car just needs a tune-up any seller would have already done it to bump the price up by double digit percentages...

"Must see to appreciate" means the seller is hoping somebody shows up naive enough that he can talk them out of their money by explaining away issues and defects in person.

"For Sale becaue I don't have time to drive it anymore" means something is seriously FUBAR'ed with the mechanicals and its most likely not trustworthy OR there is no clear title.

"Rare" means that I liked a car that's not all that collectible but I'm hoping I can convince you it is..

"One of xxxx" means the owner has some really great story about how the factory made a ****-up on just a very few select cars when what really happened is some owner swapped parts and made mods to try go make a car appear as something it isn't.

"No Hit Body" means if you don't find the damage when you inspect it; it never happened...

"Barn Find" is any car for sale that has been garaged in any structure for any length of time...

"Last Chance to Own One of These XXXX Cars" means nobody's looking at the car so the owner has to pump up the hyperbole.

"Ice Cold A/C" means the seller just charged the leaky system and hopes to move the car before the new Freon leaks out.

"Must Sell Due to XXXX (Divorce/Moving/Both Legs Amputated)" means I hope to eke out a few bucks on this POS with a sad, untrue but believable, tale of woe.

"Numbers Matching" I admit - I no longer have a clue what this means anymore..

I guess you can call me jaded....
