Default What's an informative book on C6 Corvettes?

I am looking to potentially leap over from the Mustang world and into a C6 platform Corvette once I have sold my '03 Cobra. Winter is almost upon us, which leaves me with some time to familiarize myself with the anatomy of the Corvette. Looking for anyone who can recommend an informative book on the C6 platform. Trying to gain more knowledge, for example I was completely unfamiliar with the mono-leaf spring design until I started researching Corvettes. I have read quite a bit about most of the potential issues, specifically with the Z06/LS7, because that is what I will be hoping to purchase. Anyone with a great book or even technical web page recommendation? Thanks

The Corvette Black Book is probably the most inclusive of anything else you'd find. You can pick a copy up from Amazon and many other places.

the Corvette Black Book is full of facts about the Corvette from 1953 till 2019. It will tell how many and how much . It has phrases amd jargon . When you finish this you will be on track for more info so proceed from there.

While I have 2 editions of the Corvette Black Book, it is ONLY facts. It's not something you are going to turn to for a cold winters night read.

I recommend the C6 "launch" book by Phil Berg. While it's out of print, there are several sellers on Amazon that have it available - all used but most appear to be in excellent condition.
Amazon Amazon

There's also one on eBay https://www.ebay.com/p/Launch-Book-S...0240575&chn=ps

This book will give you the progression history and the commentary from the engineers and designers for this generation. It was IIRC the only book "licensed" by GM on the C6.

Default Black book

I bought a Black book way back when I had my C2 and my C3.
When I got interested in a C6 last year I stopped by The Chevy Store in Portland to pick up a new copy thru the 2016 Model years.
Definitely a good source of info to start with.

Thanks for all the replies, sounds the the Black Book will fit the bill for what I am looking for. They have the Complete Book of Corvette at my local Barnes and Noble, so I may stop by to flip through the pages. On the subject of automotive literature, those interested should check out Tom Cotter's "in the barn" series. They are titled "Cobra in the Barn", "Corvette in the Barn" etc.. Great books about unearthing "barn finds" of all makes and models worldwide. Thanks again.

Not to be a smart@#!, but before I bought I downloaded a copy of the C6 owners manual and read through it cover to cover. Learned a lot about owning a Vette and the responsibilities of same. Helped me decide on options, trim levels, and the like as well.

Somewhere on here is a great document called Know Your C6 Corvette or something very close. It details how the model changed and when new models were added over the years. It’s very informative and I found it indispensable when I was shopping 5 years ago. If you can’t find it let me know and I’ll repost or PM it to you. I think I added to it as I learned a few things.

I bought the same book at the gift shop at the Corvette Museum way back in 2006. Still like to read it from time to time! It's like a coffee table book with great pics and writing. Definitely recommend it.
