No Heat burrrr
Hello members
Hopefully someone can help me out I have a 1988 C4, both heater hoses are hot I flushed the heater core and nothing as far as any rust or foreign matter, all my controls operate properly I'm just not getting any heat, where should I focus my attention next?
Thank You
Jim

When you say all of the controls are working did you verify if the mixer door inside the heater box is moving? If you haven't checked this that is where I would start. You can lift out the blower resistor from the top of the heater box and view that the door is moving Apparently it is not uncommon for the clip that holds the actuator arm to the door to break.

when I say all controls are working I am referring to
heater motor runs all speeds work from 1-10
defrost works (no heat)
bi level works (no heat)
and so on.
could it be as simple as a thermostat stuck open? if not then I will dive into the "clip" thing
thanks again

Your air blend door is not working. Problem is with the ac/heater programmer located above the gas peddle. That's my guess since I have been through a similar problem. batee.com is a web site to look at.

I have the same problem on my 91. No heat but the AC works. Replaced AC programmer. Still no heat. Tested blend door motor. Verified it's bad. Now I just need the courage to remove the entire dash to get to the blend door motor to replace it. Doesn't throw any codes either which I was surprised at.

If you drop the left side hush panel and use a mirror you can view the rod from the blend door to the blend motor.
To view/access the blend motor drop the ECM. It's tight under there but possible.

Make sure the clip on the rod from the blend door motor is not broken. You can verify by removing the blower motor resistor under the hood and seeing if the blend door is moving. Stick a long screw driver in to see if the blend door moves easily. if it does the clip is most likely broken. If not then look at the blend door motor.

I removed the resistor plate and I open the blend door just a little ( I got heat now) but still need to find the reason why its not operating via the control panel, thanks for your input at least I got some heat now
