Has anyone stored a C4 in a 8 x 20 storage container?
I plan on storing my 96 vette in a 8 × 20 storage container for winter at a storage facility. The container is a few inches off the ground and my concern is getting the car inside the container and I will need to use a ramp to get the car in.
I also want to remove the battery but not sure if I will have enough room on the side. Has anyone stored their c4 in this size container? Is it a pita to get the car into the container and removing the battery?

This might actually be kind of a good idea. You probably wont be getting the battery out though. You might not be opening the door to exit the car either if you drive it in.

I'm storing in an 10x20 and it's a bitch to get out without hitting the doors on the edge. The storage unit I'm using does have about a 6" lip, I just cut about 2' - 2x6's to drive up on worked fine.
As for the battery, just disconnect the negative lead...a good battery will hold charge when not connected well over winter...I've never had a problem come spring. Even so for extra insurance buy something like this ( )and hook it up to the battery before starting, not to mention they are great to have in general!
Just parked mine yesterday

Container is supposed to be weatherproof. Pull the battery don't lock the doors or set parking brake. Blocks a wood can chalk tires. Push car in to container. If you leave window down a car cover will reduce "stuff" entering car.

Mine in a 10x20...I think the picture makes it look like there is more room then there really is. I have to squeeze out of the door as I can't open it all the way. Length wise is good though, tried 10x15 but it was too small.
Bounce dryer sheets and fresh cab placed around and in car, no rodent problems.

I'm worried about condensation. Have you had any issues with it?
Also was it a pita getting the vette it?

Pull your panel off to get to the battery before you drive it in just in case its real tight. Make getting to the battery easier

Again, just the negative terminal. You'll have to exit either through the roof or window. If you go roof, you can place the top on the car and it should be creature proof. Otherwise, you'll have a window open.

This year I went ahead of time and found some units with maybe a 1 to 2" concrete lip, made life a lot easier to get the Vette in. Plus look for a unit on the edge rather then the middle. Last year I had a middle unit and had to play the Austin Powers forward and reverse game to get the car lined up with the unit as there is only about a car width and 1/2 between the rows.
Also the storage place asked me to put something under the car to catch possible dripping fluids, so just used big cut boxes from a Fridge I recently bought, tarp would probably work too.
I will say it's worth it though, in the past had to keep my vette parked in the driveway and even with a good car cover, winter is brutal in New Hampshire between snow, freezing rain, ice, and just maneuvering the snow blower around the car...so nice now not having to worry about any of that
Filled up with gas and Stabil, disconnected neg battery, and she'll be ready to go come spring...which in New Hampshire seems to be late June now a days!

A couple of suggestions first buy some 3/8" or 1/2" sheets of plywood and put down on floor before you drive the car in. I just use the cheap particle stuff, emphasis on inexpensive! This creates a moisture barrier between the floor and the car.
Add a "Damprid" bucket or hanging bag in the unit. These pull the moisture out very well. https://damprid.com/product/hanging-...-scent-3-pack/
Shoot over to Harbor freight and pick up a solar battery charger. They are $13.https://www.harborfreight.com/catalo...attery+charger
Finally, If the container is completely sealed tight, put a couple of rubber hoses in the doors as you shut them to get a tiny bit of airflow into the container. As the air temps change and moisture comes and goes, having a slight amount of airflow will keep in interior moisture to a minimum.
The width of the container is basically the same as any car trailer, so you just have to learn to be a contortionist. A couple of yoga lessons first may help!

I do have full coverage on the vette. I'm planning to suspend the insurance when it's in storage for the winter months. If I do this will the vette still be covered if something would happen to it?

No don't suspend, but call your insurance company, most will give storage discounts. As another poster said, majority of storage units don't cover what you store.

Most insurance companies offer to drop the collision part of your policy and just go comprehensive.
