Default APR Carbon Diffuser Installed

After a 3 month wait, my APR diffuser finally arrived. Installed it on Saturday evening and it was a huge pain. I'm sure a lift would have made the job a lot easier instead of lying on my back for most of the install, but the instructions were very poor and the fit was no better. It took a ton of adjusting, twisting, pulling, yelling, and I finally got everything buttoned up and installed properly after 4 hours.

When I put my wheels on I thought the rear of the car was too plain, and in my opinion this diffuser balances the look perfectly.

Nice. Now you have to swap the fender/mud guards.

Installing mine was a major pain. Took many hours of grinding and cutting before it fit but once done they look great.

Looks like new reverse lights are just above the license plate to the left and right.

I just ordered one of these. What cutting and grinding needs to be done? I thought they were a direct drop in...

It has tabs that go into the bumper cover just like the factory one does and they were way to thick to go into the slots in the cover. Most of the tabs had to be ground down before they would go into the cover. But it was worth it, that was a couple years ago maybe they are a little better by now.

Yes, they're mounted just above and on either side of the license plate. They are not very bright.

The tabs weren't an issue like the other member mentioned. I did not have to cut or grind anything, was able to get it to fit with a ton of adjustment that I was not expecting. However it would have probably been easier if I did cut/modify it. Most of my issues were around bolt holes not lining up. There are two mounting points that attach to the leaf spring brackets that were way off, and there is a recess cut out for the rear crossmember that did not line up either.

Installation issues aside, the quality of the carbon is very high. I'm a snob when it comes to carbon because I want everything to match the quality of the factory ZR1 parts, and APR does a great job with that. The weave doesn't have any waves, no thick/thin spots, no issues with the tint being darker in some areas than others, all the poor quality issues I have seen with cheaper carbon parts are nonexistent with this APR piece. If you're handy with tools and have access to a lift (I did not) then I would still recommend it.

Took me some time to install mine when i got it a while back but well worth the trouble IMO. I didn't have to grind anything though...

Beautiful! I have been thinking about getting one for my ZR1. Do they also make the carbon fiber splash guards?

just looked at your website but you don't have anything showing for the Vettes! I am guessing that you sell the diffusers? Do you also sell the splash guards? Do you make your own Carbon Fiber or are you a distributor for APR?

Yes we're readding all the products to our website.

We sell all APR Performance and Anderson Composite products. So all the diffusers, splash guards etc that they have in carbon. We have.
