On my 79 the passenger side hood latch will not latch. I have used the search function on this matter and there is no info on this issue, plenty of hood won't release threads or 68-76 hood alignment/adjustment threads. Can the hoods on the 77-82 cars be adjusted other than using shims and rubber blocks?

On my 79, I have to let the hood drop the last 6-8 inches to get it to latch, the passenger side being the tricky one. Making sure the hood weatherstrip was properly adhered helped a bit.

I'd be happy to see an adjustment that improves this.

It appears as though no 77-82 owners have encountered this issue so I will try some things.

I just used a thin washer under the latch bar on the hood. I don't drop the hood. I set it down and press it closed
with palm of my hand. I wear cotton gloves and it closes easily. I do driver side than passenger, but try the
reverse to find which one closes better.

i suppose you have latched it onto a screwdriver or something to be sure latch itself works correctly?
