I’M NEW? My
So I’m sitting in my recliner after making some serious progress on the 3.9L Dakota that’s getting some scary good upgrades. Suddenl, some guy interrupts my attempt to spend several thousand dineros on my 2013 427 Convertible saying “Ed! Ya gotta post a new dude thread” or something like that. I think I’ve been around here seven years. Look, here’s the deal. My health is bad and I had to retire from teaching all Chemistry and all kinds of cool Biology classes early. I had a stash of cash but I retired 5.5 years ago at the age of 55 and there was this thing about taking the money out until you are sixty, now I, sixty. I got into Vettes in 2012 when my father-in-law died leaving his collection of Corvette’s behind for my mother-in-law to liquify. Normally I would have had the choice between divorce or the beautiful yellow 2001 convertible I bought. But, since the car had belonged to the father-in-law I think I loved more than his daughter (my wife) I was able to buy the well cared for car. I was, and am, sick but I couldn’t wait five years. The only substantive work I did on it was to rebuild the suspension and lift it about a half inch higher than it was. It had lost about 500lbs since it first hit the street due to the front air dam, lower control arms and such getting filed away from hitting the pavement. An when I say I rebuilt the suspension I mean son number two of three did the work.
I wanted an LS7 bad and jumped at the chance to buy a nice 2010 Z06. It turned out to be a lemon. I got to keep the Tranzilla Tranny that was in it but the end play in the crank was so out of wack it hammered the hydraulics and something started leaking every 30 miles or so. The jerk who ran the dealership called me names in an attempt to get me to buy his remaining Z06 that I new had a bad clutch in it. He said my wife was &#$$% whipping me so I gave her the refund from the Z to buy a new SUV. With no money I decided to fix up my daily driver the 2003 Dakota with only 77,000 miles. I put in 7 to 1 ratio roller rockers and after 13 years of looking found a company that made hi-po cams for the engine they say is an old 318 with two cylinders chopped off. I’ll have the tranzilla freshened up and put in the Dakota . If I understand the Lakewood add they have three pieces any of which might hooked up to my engine nobody wants but I souped it up anywar. The total lift will be .556” if my math is right and the six-speed is a super close ratio like one that would have been found in a 2010 ZR1. It ought to be a nice little ride and if I dont like it I’ll take the LS7 out the 2013 427 Convertible I bought last spring. Maybe I’ll build a Bullitt proot LSX 454 and put a little super charger on it which will give me tons of horsepower without putting a big cam in a car that already comes with 8 to one rockers and 500hp. Finally, I’ve got an itch to get rid of both of my cars and shell out the loot for a C8 ZR1. That is if the stock market goes through the roof!

Congrats and I'd recommend you check out the C6 sections of the forum for fellow C6 owners and good information about your car.

Welcome to the forum, Edwin, although it appears you are already an old hand at CF.
Best wishes with both your physical health and the work you are doing to your rides!
