Default 6 piston calipers with shelby series 1's

Does anyone here have any experience with using the 14 inch rotors and 6 piston brake kit from wilwood? They have a 6 piston kit that I know would fit the shelby's but I would really like the one with 14 inch rotors.

Shelby calipers IDK. There is information that can be Googled to install 14" 6 pad Z06 brakes on a C4.

No I'm talking about the shelby series 1 wheels. I'm not sure if the 6 piston kit with the 14 inch rotor from wilwood will fit inside the shelby series 1 wheels. I know the 6 piston kit with the 13 inch rotor will fit. I was just seeing if anyone had done a 14 inch rotor

I would DOUBT it.

My buddy(he is on here) bought those wheels(I am 99% sure they are those wheels) for his ZR1. He was going to do the C5 brake conversion to it and they wont fit with the wheels(they would fit with the regular A mold's though). I think the C5 rotor is only 13", although the caliper does sit proud of the rotor on the C5 conversion where as I am guessing the Willwood 6 piston caliper sits more flush with the outer edge of the brake rotor.

well ya see, i know the 6 piston kit with the 13 inch rotor will fit because their website says for use with 17 inch rims and the shelby is an 18 inch rim. the problem is that the inside diameter of the shelby is actually closer to that of a 17 inch rim. wilwood recommends an 18 inch rim for the 6 piston 14 inch rotor kit. ill most likely have to go with the 13 inch rotor but i was just seeing if anyone had done it.

Default c6/z06?

I've done the conversion. C6/Z06 brakes. 6 piston calipers. 14inch rotors. ZR1 19inch wheels. Lowest c4 ever! Lot's of work.

He's asking about 18" wheels.

As far as an 18inch wheel, you"ll have to watch your backspacing/ET sizing. Stock is ET56MM. Depending on wheel design your going to have to get longer wheel studs and run a 1/4inch spacer. For my application I ground/machined the back side of the wheel itself 1/8inch because I didn't want to run spacers. Factory Calipers are around $500.each. Contact Van Steel Racing in Florida for the Caliper bracket and z06 brake lines. Also you will need a DRM rear brake bias spring for your Master cylinder. It may take 4-5 weeks to get that bracket made?? Any questions contact me directly.

FWIW, all the Wilwood factory kit have a page with regard to the required Wheel Clearance.

Example because the 13" FNSL6 kit was mentioned:

As shown this kit requires .180 or about 3/16" of clearance to the back of the spoke relative to the wheel mount pad surface. Radius info also given. As kits go that's some very good numbers....However wheel shapes vary greatly. Even with the same "specs" which often don't mean much when it comes to the clearance needed with such a kit. Two wheels can have the same spec but be polar opposites with regard to clearance. All due to the shape of the spoke.
